Hey guys, I'm looking for some tree texture resources. I've already gone through the available resources on Nexus and found most of what I need, but I'm in need of some tree leaf textures. Can anyone suggest someplace to find some free, modifiable, redistributable texture resources? I know Google Images can sort by license tagging and that's a start, but I'm having a hard time coming up with some good stock for leaves. I'm looking for some douglas fir, hemlock, cedar, cypress, vine maple, and beech.

Which brings me to my next question, I'm messing around with textures in GIMP with the .dds plugin. While the textures tend to look nice enough in GIMP, they degrade terribly in-game, and look jagged like they aren't getting any AA applied to them. The yellow-green tree just in front of it is using my own ginkgo leaf texture. The remaining tree is using a vanilla leaf texture (quaking aspen i think) and holds up better than the other two. Am I missing something?

cgtextures.com is the best place I know for texture stock. They've hundreds of images for leaves alone, plus branches, flowers etc. Free, though you gotta register an account and there's a 15mb per 24hrs download limit unless you feel like paying cashola.

plaintextures.com is a similar site, also with leaf textures.

Sorry I don't know enough to answer your second question, I'm pretty terribad at DDSes.
