Can't believe they never fixed the Dexion Evicus bug

The always aggressive bug on consoles is a game breaker. But hey, at least they fixed the extremely OP speech glitch in Riften. You know the glitch, the one that ruined a SP game and gave us an unfair advantage over ourselves leaving us no option but to start a new game.

Over 70 hours into a save and can no longer progress dawnguard as he attacks everyone in the fort and is permanently busy when you take him down. Being on console, I only keep a few saves to stop the game crashing every 5mins, so I can't even go back to a previous save file before entering the cave.

Priorities ffs, that's all most of us really want.

It is sad that this still exists but they are done with fixes. I hope someone from Bethesda reads your thread and takes it to heart. Speaking from experience, console players only recourse is to make lots of multiple saves.

There are some ways to get over this glitch:

  • Fix: Do NOT kill or attack the imperial corpse called "Vampire Corpse" in any way (strike with sword, conjure, use destruction magic, etc.), even if the corpse is already dead. If raised by a vampire then kill the vampire instead. When Dexion is released from the Magical Barrier, wait until the quest gives the objective to "Defeat the enthralled Dexion".

  • Fix: If this is another play-through, and you're going straight to the cave, have the quest active. After heading south from Dragon's Bridge, you will come upon a broken carriage with two corpses. One corpse is an Imperial Soldier and the other is a Vampire corpse. There is a note on the Vampire corpse. Be sure to take it and read it. This bug was annoying for me and I just figured out this solution after wasting so much time trying to use the other fixes.

  • Fix: Use the http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Vampire%27s_Seduction power on him to temporary revoke his hostile status.

  • Fix: Use a http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Calm_%28Skyrim%29 spell or http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Scrolls_%28Skyrim%29 to make him non hostile. If an http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Imperial_%28Skyrim%29, use the http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Voice_of_the_Emperor to calm him for a short period of time. After it wears off, step outside and wait 24 hours and do it again. The spell or effect has to be powerful enough to work on the Dragonborn, as Dexion spawns at the same level.

  • If you are an http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Imperial or have a high enough http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Illusion skill, you can use http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Voice_of_the_Emperor or a spell to calm him and continue with the dialogue. You will have to do this every time you walk into Fort Dawnguard though, so if you are using Voice of the Emperor, wait a day for the power to reset.

Also you wanna try this: http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Thread:254051

---------

If i remember correctly, i encountered once this bug on my PS3, but i sorted it out.

GOOD LUCK !!!

I'm a nord and my levelling days are over. Pretty much maxed all my RPing skills. My magic is still at 100, so even using a trainer to increase my magic pool is no use. Hell, I can't even cast muffle to level my illusion.

Having read up on the issue further, i think my problem was, there was a vampire stuck in the sealed barrier with him and I think Serana may have aggro'd both him and the vampire. Never attacked the legion corpse.

Really appreciate you pulling all that info up. Thanks!
