Just started a recent install of Oblivion and am not sure whether I should be posting this here, or in the mods section as this seems to have jumped from a mod issue to a hardware issue. I haven't properly played it for a few years and have forgotten how much of a nightmare it is to get working/mod compared to Morrowind and Skyrim.
Most things were fine save for some issues with Oblivion Character Overhaul where Argonians and Khajiit weren't displaying their new textures. I realised it was likely due to installing the mod manually and installed the OMOD via OBMM, opting to replace all files. This is where things went wacky.
Upon loading my game, I was getting a mouse mapping issue where my loading screen was weirdly small and I couldn't properly click on anything unless I hovered above it, nor move my cursor to the edges of the screen. (the issue's detailed http://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=313887 by a guy experiencing it almost a decade ago) and following the linked thread, I tried to find the LOD line in my oblivion ini settings. I wasn't able to, so I just deleted the ini file and re-launched Oblivion to create a new ini file. http://mostlycloudy.net/~dnl2ba/images/gamecaps/oblivion/Oblivion0.jpg
Unfortunately, the game can't detect my hardware, so it automatically sets it to Medium, and I launched the game to change the settings to my preferred high settings and resolution. My game CTD's on exit and doesn't save the settings, so I typed in "saveini" which appeared to work. Resolution's great, but I'm back to square one and the cursor's confined to an invisible box.
I'm not sure what happened as it was working fine before I re-installed the mod, save for CTDs on exit which I'm accustomed to when it comes to ES games and the Character Overhaul issues. On the bright side, the textures are working. Yay!
