My old disk is cracked so im thinking of buying the whole game (5th Anniversary Edition) just to get a good disk to use.

I should not have any problems using this new disk on my old install for the disk check would I? I would hate to have to reinstall the whole game and mods just to get a good cd for the disk check.

Any one that has any info on this or has done this would help.

The only issue I see is if your prior install was GOTY and you buy a non GOTY version of the disc. If you stick to the same version of the game you have installed, you should be fine. Going from original to GOTY should also work, but going the other way around might cause issues because of the added content, although I have never tried going backwards like that so I don't know. I have multiple copies of the Oblivion GOTY disc and have swapped discs before with no issue.

That sounds pretty good, I did have just the original and im going to 5th Anniversary Edition disk.

By all intications it should work.

If any one else has done something like this let me know how it turned out.
