So...I may have tipped the Powder Gangers off to the NCR's raid of the prison. (I've owned the game since launch and this is the first run I even realized the Powder Gangers have content!). I ran screaming from the Prison and avoided firing a shot - the NCR still shot at me.

I'm now discovering unless I'm wearing a NCR outfit, the NCR shoot on sight, and the Rangers are out for my head...but my reputation with them is still showing up as "Neutral".

This doesn't break my game per say (I've...ah...acquired a NCR outfit since. Completely off topic, the Grenade Rifle makes a pretty effective Boom.), but I'm curious how far this unwarranted aggression is going to go. Am I going to have to do battle on the streets of Vegas when I get there?

It's not like the NCR uniform is a bad piece of kit (Especially since I utilize the Lore variant http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/40139/?), but I hate having to lug it around everywhere with me.

It shows neutral when wearing their gear. Did you check your NCR rep without NCR gear? Also, I've been shot at by NCR when wearing Brotherhood armor, which I had not anticipated. I guess Helios One is still fresh in their minds.

I'm Accepted out of the NCR armor, but they still shoot on sight.

If you haven't yet met with Mr. House. Doing so will activate a NCR messenger who will deliver a note clearing you of any crimes and wrongdoing. If you have. Well at least you won't run out of gear to sell.

I think at this point I'd be better off starting over. I'm trying a new build...it's not working out well (I just got killed by Geckos. GECKOS). Plus, Cass was for some reason hostile when I turned up at the Mojave Outpost in NCR gear...considering she's one of my default companions...I did not care for killing her.

Maybe your uniform mod is causing a problem?

Although I never have tipped off the Powder Gangers about the prison attack, maybe that REALLY upsets the NCR and all their friends.

There is a bug that wearing rep gear can reset or change your rep to the faction your wearing, I have never seen it in the years i have played, but i admit i do not bother wearing faction clothing, unless im doing a mission. Good luck out there.
