I watched the last one, first time since Moonraker I think. Oh Bond is so different now. Well the last film was set around Jimmy Saville's Scottish hideaway, and I fell asleep. I think in the end they were in a house and it burned and some people were shot. I think I liked Jaws and Moore's eyebrows more. geddit?

Seen a couple of trailers for this and it looks potentially quite good. The producers seem to have adopted a slightly darker tone for Bond's outing in this new film somehow. I also think Daniel Craig plays a good 007 and has brought some credibility to the role. Hope he continues to play the part for a few more films before he leaves the role.

While I personally enjoied Skyfall, I thought that Craig's acting was a bit too stiff in it. I hope to see him loosen up a little for this one. He is a good actor, but he is lacking in the Charisma Department for the Bond performance, a character that is supposed to be very charismatic. Granted, he's no Sean Connery or Roger Moore, but Daniel Craig's Bond shows very little emotion, and is almost wooden in delivery. I hope they inject some color into the Character for this one.

Roger Moore was still my favourite bond. Not a huge fan of Daniel Craig but he could be worse, the last movie wasnt too bad, not super great or anything but better than most recent bond movies. Except for the train part. There's no way anyone could have planned that, it was more contrived and convoluted than lokis plan from the avengers.

And I agree, Daniel is a decent actor but his bond has no charisma. How the hell is he sleeping with all these women with that charisma?

I think it fair to say that the producers of the bond films have completely removed the tongue in cheek humour that was so apparent in the Connery/Moore era in an attempt to make the films more serious nowadays. I liked the old Bond films and was a bit sceptical when I first heard Daniel Craig had got the part in Casino Royale but now think he has brought quite a unique touch to the role and have kind of warmed to his portrayal of the it.

While true, Dalton and Brosnan were able to deliver a serious tone to the Franchise, while still able to add life to the character. The first two Craig movies were good, but as I said, he seemed a little too stiff in Skyfall. It almost seemed as if Bond was made out to be a mindless killing machine rather than a spy in Skyfall.

Yes I'm inclined to agree with you there, Skyfall almost went a bit "Jason Bourne" in it's approach. That's really down to the director though, not Daniel Craig, he can only do what the director instructs him to do and if that leaves little room for any sort of improvisation with the role his hands are somewhat tied really.

I looked this up on IMDB not long ago just to check its status and found out they had given it a name and release date.. I'll watch the trailer later though, since I haven't seen it yet. I stated in another Bond thread once that I was used to the action of the older movies, so I'm hoping Spectre will be similar to Skyfall.. Skyfall is my favorite Daniel Craig bond so far because it appealed to me more than the other two. I'm also really interested in knowing what the story behind Spectre will be.

Technically, Blofeld was never after world domination per se. His goal with SPECTRE was mostly out of profit seeking.

Hopefully they come up with something better than that.. the later Spectre bond movies are some of my least favorite ones in the series because it was the same recycled thing with every movie :P. Thunderball is good enough, but after that I don't care to watch them unless it's a Roger Moore movie.

Only after they moved on from Blofeld did the series get interesting again.

I think that part of the joke was that prior to "You Only Live Twice", Blofeld was played by a different actor. Could be wrong though.

Mine too, I still like Timothy Dalton in The Living Daylights but Craig still does a great job.

I like Daniel Craig as Bond, I wonder how many 007 movies he'll end up making? I had heard somewhere he's partial to the Xbox, don't know if there's any truth to it?

I went into Casino Royale with the same mindset yet with an open mind and enjoyed the direction they took Bond into. Sean Connery is still my favorite because it's Sean Connery and he's just a natural boss even though he makes no attempt at masking his Scottish self playing an English agent...same for the Scottish Spaniard from Highlander. No Bond can force themselves onto a woman without seeming like a rapist creep like Connery can

They always hype the Bond movies like crazy. Really in-depth cinematic trailers, all sorts of promotional ads, cross-advertising Bond with various products like alcohol and fancy watches. I get tired of it before I even see the movie.

Daniel Craig is 47, worth considering that Roger Moore made his last appearance as Bond aged 58. I think Daniel Craig is still good for another 2 or 3 films.

Never liked craig and tbh never cared much for the bond universe besides the n64 game, but I heard idris elba was being considered as the next bond and to me that would be cool.

Clive Owen was in the running for the Bond role a few years back but things didn't materialise for some reason. I always thought he would have been a good Bond.

Connery and Moore shot, or used people as shields just because they were in a profession where murder was part of the job description. Often they would make love to someone who they would then murder or witness their death and lol about it. People who make jokes about that are far more scary than anything PC Craig can dredge up. He is anodyne, but works out and so appeals to men and women who think this is what maketh the man.

Skyfall was terrible, and the other two Craig movies not much better, but I do quite like him as Bond and I think the rest of the cast they assembled in Skyfall was promising, so maybe they'll salvage something out of it. I wish they'd been more willing to take risks and make Judy Dench's last film much more about her, because she was by far the most interesting character. Of course, you make a lot more money stringing together pointless action scenes and catchphrases, so that's probably what Bond is stuck with forever now...

I can see why people wanted Clive Owen for Bond, but I've always thought he was too sleazy for the job. I know he looks good in a suit, but he's better off as a character with a bit of a rough edge like in Croupier or Children of Men. Maybe he's just a bit typecast for me though - as I've not seen him in much else...
