I'm having a bit of confusion and some trouble with the monsters that shoot fireballs at you in Arena. Mainly the hell-hounds and those damned wreiths (I'm not sure how to spell that without looking in game or the UESP) and a few others.

What's the best method of protecting myself against those other than the resist fire potions?

I made a custom spell that has 100% of fire resistance for 19 rounds but that spell doesn't help in the slightest from what I can tell.
