Odd bug--only get half of vampirism's effects

So, I made a "Shadowscale" character and used Startscript "vampire_berne_pc" to send him out into the world to wreak havoc on the living. Much to my surprise, however, he ended up as a rather stunted vampire. The only powers he got were the generic vampire attribute increases (+20 to Strength, Willpower, and Speed), the Clan-specific attribute increase (+20 to Agility) and 50% Weakness to Fire. Everything else (Immunity to Paralysis, resistance to weapons, any of the skill increases) didn't show up. This didn't change even when I moved all the vampire mods to the end of the load order and tried again. Trying to console in "vampire skills" and "vampire berne abilities" didn't change anything either.

Has anyone else ever run into this bug? I did a forum search but didn't find anything.

I had the same problem and I'm fairly sure I solved it; use addspell "vampire blood berne" and sleep three days. For somereason starting the vamprie_*_pc script wouldn't cause everything to initiate properly.

Neither of those suggestions worked, but they did put me on the path to figuring it out, so thanks for your help. :)

For whatever reason, all of the appropriate spells ("vampire skills," "vampire berne specials," "vampire immunities," etc.) were being added to my character, but the only ones taking effect were vampire abilities and vampire sun damage. Consoling porphyric hemophilia onto my character, waiting, and then, after the transformation, stripping off all the spells that weren't working and then re-adding them seems to have fixed things.

We've tracked down the source of this bug. It's an issue with MCP, in combination with the Vampire Realism mod. Since VR teleports you to a crypt at the exact time it applies the abilities, the spells aren't active yet and MCP clears them on cell change. A similar situation would cause a crash if the spell caster is unloaded from memory, but a script works normally. This will be fixed in MCP 1.8.
