Bleak falls barrow challenge

Post » Sun Apr 05, 2015 8:58 pm

I beat bleak falls at lvl 3 with only my fists! I was wondering has anyone else done this WITHOUT mods? Sure, it's shameless bragging and it is a weak sauce dungeon but it is an interesting challenge!

Ah, but what difficulty setting? For this to be a fair challenge, everyone needs to do it at the same difficulty level. Whatever difficulty level you achieved it on, others need to do the same or achieve it on a higher setting. Say you achieved it on Master - it's not exactly fair if someone else takes up the challenge and completes it on Novice or Adept, is it?

I've passed through Bleak Falls completely without engaging in combat at all, except for the draugr bossfight at the end. So, if it happens you weren't Khajiit, how did you kill that guy?

I had done that too, but nonetheless a good question.

I was going to say that the challenge also requires that we know what race the OP was. If Khajiit, that's fine, but they do get boosts to hand-to-hand combat, so achieving the challenge without being Khajiit is a bit more impressive. If the OP wasn't Khajiit, it's not exactly fair on them if someone else plays as a Khajiit during the challenge as it's not a level playing field.

Ummm - pretty cool, but were you swigging potions in mid combat?

Even though it is possible to pause the game and change any setting or equip/drop anything (including full armor sets), I restrict possible actions once combat starts. Of course, everything is back on the table if you run away and the health-bar of your opponent is no longer displayed.

So - how much mid-combat pausing was going on during your dungeon crawl?

Besides the deathlord at the end of the dungeon, I don't think this would be terribly difficult on adept if you are good at maneuvering and dodging. Draugr are quite slow. Bleak falls gets harder the higher your level is, so at level 3 the toughest draugr will be a restless draugr.

Yeah, where's the challenge, here, exactly?

And BFB really doesn't get any more difficult the higher your level gets, except for one (particularly cold) section.

i did use traps when they were in the room but the spider and draugr at the end we're all me I also took most out myself I didn't have many potions but I rested a lot only using potions when I needed to. as a said about traps I only used them when they were in the room even then I tried not to as I wanted a challenge! On a simmilar note did you know the gloves of the pugilist can be used for enchanting? No I didn't know this when I did the barrow but I made a khajiit who tore people up with those enchants!

On UESP it says the range for the level of BFB is 6-20 so I'm assuming that determines the enemy levels. I remember during one play through I waited until later in the game and there were some higher level draugr, unless my memory has deteriorated worse than I thought (which very well may be the case).

Outside of the end boss (which isn't even as powerful as a deathlord, at least not as difficult), and the frost troll, the highest-level draugr/enemy I've ever encountered (level 40+) was a draugr wight.

Pretty cool; I don't have much enjoyment using unarmed strikes, but to each their own.

For me, no weapons = no fun.

Oh, I thought he meant some kind of traps HE was setting, like a fire rune or something.
