Making spike damage triggerboxes. How?

In the past I've used fire damage triggerboxes with no problem as they already exist in CK. What I am doing/attempting now is I have an area which is fenced off. Player can get in by jumping from a nearby rock but getting out I want to be a problem. Player cannot jump the fence from inside as the fence is too high but the fenced off area has objects which the player can use to get enough height to get out. So I put my version of angled spikes on top of the fence (statics). Player can still jump out, making the spikes bigger/longer would look silly as the fence could not support them (in a real life situation). Moving objects around inside the area is obviously an option and one I may have to resort to this but again this looks strange that all the clutter and statics are in the centre of the area. So I thought make the spikes give damage. I looked through the available triggerboxes but none were obviously labelled "Spike damage". I checked the trap spike in CK it has a script "Hazard Base" which I put onto a collision box first - this crashed CK, then onto a blank triggerbox, all properties copied from the spike trap, which did nothing. Anybody point me to where I can get some damage I can put on a triggerbox? Or offer any alternative. Thanks.

EDIT: After thought - If I make the spikes activators wouldn't that work?

EDIT, EDIT: Just placed a spikes trap "TrapWoodSpikeBed01" in CK on its side so I could test the damage, in game sprinted into it and no damage. Confused.
