Items and weight......

Post » Thu Apr 09, 2015 10:34 pm

Hi

I'm still new to the game, so it's a bit early to get Hearthfire, so until then, is there anywhere that I can store things, because this weight allowance is a pain in the ass. I appreciate its needed for realism, but I'm constantly running out of "space".

Thx

D

:)

Well, you could look up areas that are "safe" to store stuff. Or get a house. Those your options, there are probably more but I don't know anything else.

If you are on PC there are several mods that add containers as well as storage to horses and extra homes. If you are on console then you are limited to what they just posted.

The weight thing always seems to get worse before it gets better. I'll sell off everything I don't want, and maybe be carrying a weight of 150. I go do something, come back, again sell off everything, and now I end up with a net 190 weight... and so it goes. On the bright side, there's a quest I always look forward to that takes almost everything you have and puts it in a chest while you go do the job. I love that, because I take my sweet time going after my gear when it's over... :D

Absolutely best early base of operations for Skyrim is found in Markarth.

Spoiler
Go there. Enter the city. Deal with the situation in the marketplace, just inside the entrance. After that, start going up the path to the right of the stream. You will encounter a Vigilant of Stendarr that is pestering people outside the entrance to the Abandoned House. Talking to him starts the quest House of Horrors. Go inside with the Vigilant and play along the quest. Once you get to the point where you can exit the house again, it no longer matters if you complete the quest or not. Thereafter, that house is available to you and you don't have to worry about chests, end tables, or dressers restocking. (Not too sure about sacks and barrels.) And it costs you nothing.

You can join some "brotherhood", too, like: Companions, Thief, Assassins. I think you will have a chest, or many, to store suff.

There are also some containers in the burnt out inn at Helgan that provide safe storage.

I wouldn't call carrying 50 Iron ignots, 100 potions, a few dozen gems each, a full suit of heavy armor a great sword and running with no effort realism. Maybe the gravity is lower on Nirn... Here is a list of safe buildings and locations to store your loot in. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Category:Skyrim-Places-Safe Just remember, these weren't designed to be player houses.

You must have looked within seconds of the initial posting. It was corrected within just a couple minutes and works fine now.
