Ok, so I now have the horn (fnaar fnaar), and Delphine (from the bar I had to rent the room from) wants me to go to Kynesgrove with her. But I think she indicated I can go at another time and meet her there. The reason I ask is because she is standing in front of me now, about to go to this place, and I don't want to go now! I want to do a few things first, and also take the horn to the Greybeards first. Or do I need to follow her right now.....I don't want to miss this quest...

You can safely go do whatever you want between now, and going to Kynesgrove. Even if you don't go there for weeks(in-game or otherwise), she will meet up with you just after you get there.

Like many other instances in the game, a quest's action trigger doesn't occur until the required participants (DB and Delphine) are at the specified location (Kyne's Grove). Doesn't matter if you travel together, or if you arrive one day, one week, one month, or even one year later. The first time that you arrived at the specified location, the required NPC will already be present. If, otoh, you travel separately, but you fast travel to the location, it IS possible that you will arrive first. But the event won't trigger until the required NPC gets close.

Ah, brilliant, thanks - exactly what I needed to know, as I'm off doing my thing! Need to sell a bunch of stuff, and I want to get the horn to the Greybeards. And it's good to know CaptainPatch that this is true of other quests. and otoh - 'on the other hand'?
