Inspired by the 'First Oblivion memory thread' obviously, what was one (or a couple) of your fondest moments during your time playing Oblivion?
I remember getting the GOTY addition for my 16th birthday, along with a brand new Halo: Reach controller. I picked them out and had to wait weeks to play them, and when I finally did the wait was totally worth it I downloaded the DLC and I remember how blown away and soaked up in the Shivering Isles I was immediately. It was like trying to stand up straight as a tidal wave rolled over me. I remember audibly gasping as I first looked up at the beautiful pink skybox full of swirling galaxies, and I had a similar reaction when I first stepped into Mania.
I also remember laughing partly with frustration during the Battle for Bruma. On this character I went through pretty much every other guild questline/ DLC to get as many followers as I could. I think I had about 12 in the end. The most tedious was probably the Mages Guild, which could sometimes glitch making me lose a days progress. I finally finished it and got an Apprentice. With him and the rest of my ragtag militia I lined up with the rest of the soldiers outside Bruma (also finished that quest so there were looooads of NPC's on-screen during this point and the battle was as hectic and mad as I hoped it would be). So what does my Apprentice Mage do? He doesn't cast spells from a distance or anything useful, oh no. He runs ahead of everyone else and sprints face-first into a Dremora warhammer, dying in one hit. I'm a little lost to words even to this day... Makes for a fun story though
