Help me bring Turija Vassinus to life . . .

So, I decided to "remake" my very first Skyrim character into something completely different (hence the new avatar). I need some help flushing out the backstory in a lore friendly way.

When I first joined this forum, I had just gotten Skyrim on 11/11/11 and picked a name for my first Skyrim character that was invented years earlier for AD&D when my elven fighter/magic user had an Osprey familiar named Turija. The name sounded sort of Khajiitish, so when I picked Khajiit as my first race, I went with Turija as the name, and when I joined here, I needed a user-name, so just went with my current character. Played that first character (a sneaky light armor wearing dual wielder) until about level 40 or 50 and then got an itch to play something different and played many other characters of various races, then took a two and a half year hiatus from Skyrim.

Back now and wanting to make a memorable character for a long term roleplay. I decided to go back to the first time I played Skyrim and make a new Khajiit named Turija, but much different this time. Instead of light armor and one handed bladed weapons, this character will wear heavy armor and wield big two-handed axes and hammers. Turija Vassinus is patterned after the Khajiit you meet if you pursue Oblivion's Arena questline -- the one with a lot of health that wails on you with a big axe. If I recall, he also has some healing ability, so he can be a tough opponent.

I also added a last name this time, so instead of just "Turija", he's Turija Vassinus. Some of you may recognize this name from the Oblivion mage, Sulinas Vassinus, living in the Skingrad mages guild. He always seemed like a nice guy, although not as proficient in magic as some or as highly ranked, something about the way he talked made him seem like he came from a wealthy family who had connections. I always pictured him as the type of guy who wanted to work for a living and live a normal life, even though he had family money. But because of that family money to fall back upon he did not have the ambition to advance beyond a certain point in his career, even though he had the talent to do so.

So, my idea in naming Turija after Vassinus is that perhaps, a couple hundred years after the events of Oblivion, a descendant of Sulinas Vassinus, who had much the same traits as Sulinas went to the Arena one day and met a Khajiit who was much like the axe wielding Khajiit we meet in Oblivion. The two became friends and Sulinas helped the Khajiit escape from the Arena lifestyle and live as a normal person. Eventually, Turija was adopted into the Vassinus family and took the family name.

Sullinas would have taught Turija the etiquette of civilized high society and some rudimentary magic. Turija would have tried to toughen Sulinas up a bit, since Sulinas was a bit of a fop. They would have made sort of an "Odd Couple" pair of friends, but very close friends they were, "brothers from different mothers" in modern parlance.

Then, something happened to the Vassinus family. I am not sure exactly what. This is where I need help on the details. But it would have to be something really bad, that would have driven Turija Vassinus all the way to Skyrim as a fugitive (explaining why the Imperials were going to cut off his head). The basic outline of what I have so far is that the Vassinus family stood in the way of the corrupt Mede ambitions for some reason and Mede, using some political back-channeling had them framed for something and arrested/executed, and Turijs Vassinus fled to Skyrim where they caught him at the border, only because he happened to run into the trap set for Ulfric.

So, my roleplay would be that Turija Vassinus likes the Imperials as a race, but detests the Mede empire, eventually seeking the power and means to do something about that . . . first though I want to develop the character through the Dawnguard and maybe part of the main quest as an overall good character and tough warrior, who uses a bit of magic but not too proficiently, who is trying to do some good in the world in the name of his dead brother. Later, he will learn that his brother is not dead, but merely imprisoned, and he may need to kill the emperor in order to get his brother freed.

Spoiler
so eventually he will reluctantly join the dark brotherhood not because he enjoys assassinating or gives a whit about Sithis -- he doesn't -- but solely as a means to an end (killing the emperor), but he won't join right away -- there are things I want to develop with the character first -- basically his overall good personality brought out by his friendship with Sulinas

Anyway, I could use help with some of the details, especially on what type of trouble a wealthy family might have run into in dealing with a corrupt emperor that might have caused the emperor to use his power to wipe the family out, and how I could work the assassination of the emperor into a story to free the brother.

I'd also welcome any other discussion on any aspect of the character, including but not limited to perks, quests to pursue or not to pursue, roleplay, etc. Right now, He has completed main quest up to getting all three words of unrelenting force and dawngard up to the point where you have to choose what side to fight for -- obviously he choose to fight for the dawngard -- he loves his new crossbow.

Oh, and I am playing this character on Xbox, so no mods for this playthrough. But I have got all three DLCs installed. Thanks!
