Guitar Hero and Rock Band returning...

http://www.gamestop.com/collection/guitar-hero-live?tp=i-H43-8C-1DU-UZLhe-1n-x4Kd-1c-UYYDF-XSjde&cid=eml_10001992&fq=1#media is coming out this Fall, though going back to Guitar only (but with a twist! It's called "LIVE" for a reason mate!)...

And https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pZNDZzCZ7o is also most likely coming out this Fall as well (I heard October myself). This time, no pro guitar/bass and no keys. Just Vocals, Guitar, Bass, and Drums (+ pro drums).

What are your guys' thoughts on these music genre games returning? In my opinion, I find it's pretty cool but I'll stick with Rock Band 3 myself. I got too many good songs on Rock Band 3 to just restart my library on a new game.

I had a few Guitar Hero games, back when they were still immensely popular.. Never played them much though, while I love Music, my hand-eye coordination and reaction time is not quite good enough to play Rhythm game well.. its gotten a bit better over the years, and nowadays I can play some Rhythm games on the easiest of settings, but my score is always abysmal until I memorize the required input (but once I move onto the next song, I have to basically relearn from scratch)..

while on topic of Rock Band though, reminds me of a funny story:

Back in College, I was in my Apartment on the weekend studying for a test I had coming up the following week. there was alot of loud music coming from the Apartment next to mine.. I had never even met the guy in that apartment as he had just moved in a couple weeks before, but it was Distracting so I threw on a shirt and went to knock on his door to politely ask him to turn it down..

guy apologized very Politely saying he had just invited a few of his buddies over to play some games and that they would try to keep it down in the future. he looked back in through the door for a second and turns to me and says "Hey, I dunno if your busy or not, but we are playing some Rock Band at the moment, and we have no one on Bass.. if you want to come in and have a few beers you are more than welcome to hang out with us, we plan to play some Halo 3 a bit later"..
I smiled, looked at him and said "pfft, sure why not, just let me go grab my Xbox controller".

had quite a good evening.. and thinking back, that was the last time I remember ever playing a Guitar Hero or Rock Band game..

Well, since you already asked. :P I'm not gonna hate on the game itself, but if the time some people put into that game was put into practicing a real guitar, we'd have several hundred extra virtuosos walking around the planet lol. And here I'm not refering to people who just want to have some casual fun, I'm refering to the fact that I've heard of events where "stars" played the game for large amounts of money, which boggles my mind when compared to bunch of actual virtuosos who mostly play for no money at all.

The live action Guitar Hero immediately puts me off. The last thing I want to see are a bunch of live action hipsters jumping around like fools when I'm playing a game. I haven't played these kind of games since Rock Band 2, but if I were to do it again, I would stick with Rock Band.
