Mixed races don't exist. The child always takes 100% of what the mother is. It wouldn't be lore friendly

Yeah, they probably wouldn't be "true" half breeds like the Breton were (due to generations of extensive mixed breeding) but a child of two separate races will have a bit of their father's features in spite of being considered the race of the mother. I think an option to make that a little more obvious would be great, even if it's already a little possible with the character creator. Like, slightly pointed ears for elf/human children (or blunted if the mother is the elf), height editing, eye color (like Jagar Tharn, who apparently was a Breton with a Dunmer father and thus had red eyes, or his descendant Karliah, who has purple eyes)

In spite of conflicting information (Pelagius III is a Breton) wouldn't that make him an Altmer like his mother? That kinda throws a wrench in the "takes the race of the mother" thing. But then apparently his mother was a Direnni and they did "create" the Bretons...so maybe she was actually a Breton?

Bretons aren't half and half. Altmer exploited it with magic. Bretons are still Bretons , just with some of the Altmer Arcane characteristics. There won't be any true mixed races lol.

You also have to consider what source you are reading. The true lore comes from Bethesdas Lore Master Lawrence

The Bretons are mostly human stock with traces of Aldmeri ancestry, which varies from region to region. By in large, "mixed" races are not likely a thing. A Nord born in Colovia by a Imperial father would most likely consider himself a Imperial, and so on and so forth. There are regional differences across the board (Ashland Dunmer would look different from their High rock counterparts, if a little), but it would be marginal.

^For ESO, yes. For everything else..theres quite a few people.
