Had a strange incident over the weekend. It is fine now at the time of this post (Actually, I have it on right now playing a show on Netflix). I have had my PS4 for a little over a month and no issues at all. I logged lots of hours on GTA V and a small amount on Shadow of Mordor, as well as Netflix.
So on Saturday, I woke up my system from rest and waited to log in. I log in and put in my GTA V disc. Like I do with my PC before playing games, I let it warm up so I waited a minuet or two. I select GTA V and the splash screen comes up and then something odd happened.
Right at the intro where the sirens blare and the stars show up, it froze. At first I think "Oh a freeze, I'll just press the PS button." No response but before I could even think of touching the power sensor, it shuts off by itself.
Now this is where it gets weird: I was able to boot it back up, it checked drive but unlike most of the people I saw on YouTube and other boards, I got no "Don't unplug when on or on rest mode blah blah blah" and then it starts. It went right to a error reporting screen (It didn't have a code or anything) just telling me there was a error and to send it to Sony.
So I sent it and everything worked fine. I tried 3 more times the exact scenario to recreate the incident but everything went butter smooth. The next day, I had a good 2 and a half hour session on GTA and watched more Netflix later that day. Not even a sign or symptom, before or after the incident.
Most of the posts on forums and videos on YouTube have a similar issue but it was a lot bigger, some showing a sign, some dont but the system beeps (Which mine didnt, not a sound or a glimmer of the LED light so no blue/red light of death).
So, without going on much longer, did my PS4 kick into a "oh snap, let me properly shutdown for you because I am error" mode? I say "properly" because I did not get any improper shutdown message so it couldn't of been a power related thing (I had no surge or brownout). And the first thing I was greeted with was a error form to report it.
Any advice/tips is greatly appreciated, but keep in mind it is fine as of this post (Like I said, Netflix is playing atm). Even if something happens, I am still under warranty and the whole process looks easier than I thought. I can always get another one as a last resort since I can still afford it...
Thanks
