Localized vs Ever-Present in Fallout

Hello fellow Fallout fans,

Today I want to discuss the matter of localized and unique vs connecting and ever-present elements of the Fallout setting.

In my opinion, Fallout does not tell the story of any group or region in particular, but the whole of post-war USA - and only the USA. That means of course that the BoS or Enclave or NCR or whatever faction does not need to constantly reappear unless it makes sense for them.

Vaults are restricted. Muties shouldn't reappear in large numbers, only migrant birds. FEV is localized and would be boring as well.

Much more crucial than the localized elements are the actual links however, the elements that make or break a Fallout game.

The pre-war world for example is an ubiquitous part of Fallout. Sunset Sarsaparilla is not, it's just part of something greater. Nuka Cola Quantum isn't either, Nuka Cola is.

What I could imagine to see everywhere:

-Rabid Dogs, Molerats, Radscorpions, Bloatflies, Radroaches, Brahmin, diverse robots, primarily Mr Handies, not Eyebots

-Other pre-war stuff, including all sorts of food, architecture, weapons, gimmicks and styles

-Iguanas and Squirrels

-Ghouls

What's your opinion on this matter?
