Modding community love train - Jump on it you too!

Things are really in a bad shape right now.

A lot of hate going on.

I understand peoples feelings are strong in all this dilemma and is OK.

We all have strong opinions in life.

But let's not hurt each other as real people.

Also why say so much bad things to such great guys?

Guys that released stuff to a game you really love?

I could go on and on here of how much my first time using Frostfall and how blow away I was.

Placing the campfire and the tent? Man that was way too sophisticated for the ugly Skyrim I had.

SkyUI? Dude there is no going back for me.

I don't even consider Skyrim without SkyUI in my mind is like it was always there.

iNeed, W&C and most of isoku stuff really makes the game immersive and alive.

Small details all over the place giving the game a real atmosphere.

And there are so many great mods out there.

ENB, TES5Edit, Mod Organizer, Wrye Bash, SKSE the list is endless.

All those guys are amazing IMO.

So I want to show some love here.

Regardless of your principle those guys are not evil.

I hope the community can also show some love because the hate is all over the place.

The So-Called Community has been so venomous that I'm ashamed to be considered a part of it. These guys don't deserve our hate. And we need to recognize that behind that computer screen exists a person so passionate about a game series that they devoted their time and a part of their life to modding. And it isn't wrong to want to make a living off something you're good at. Sorry accidental post, be right back with more. This new Paid Mods Fiasco doesn't change the fact that these modders contributed much more than a simple mod. They changed the way we play a game, our experience and our joy thereof.

We all have to remember this is the interwebz, an extremely critical (almost typed out cr1itikal  ) place as we have anonymity. It's a blessing and a curse, truly.

Group hug time :hugs:

1. A big thank you to all the mod makers out there not only for Skyrim but for all games out there. Even if it is for a mod I do not like. Still you get a big thank you.

2. To all the mod users a thank you for playing the mods and providing the feed back to help improve the mods.

3. To the game developers for making the games in the first place.

Hopefully tomorrow it will not be so negative

Chesko didn't deserve the horrific treatment he got. He should have expected heavy flak, but he got way worse then that.

What bothers me most is the deafening silence from Valve and Bethesda. They're hanging people out to dry. While it's actually their scam. Pocketing 75% of the pie. With the modders just being the pretense so the PR department can spin their obvious corporate monetization of user generated content into "look at us being saints, we now allow modders compensation". If the latter were the case they would have taken a much less substantial or even nominal fee, or even better: allowed direct donations or a patreon system.

All of it leaves a bitter taste.

I agree, in the past day it seems like the "community" never really existed, just people trying to be nice towards those who give them free stuff disguising themselves as a community..

a REAL community would respect the decisions of other members of that community, but attacking and insulting individuals because they take a different option to distribute their work? yeah, thats not what a community does, a real community respects their decisions either way and wishes them the best in further endeavors

When I saw Cheskos work on the workshop mere minutes after it was announced, it made me stop and think about it for a little while instead of going full knee jerk about paying for mods.

Isoku aswell, its almost as if they read my mind in creating their mods. They've given to the community so much that is so in keeping with my own tastes that they got instant respect from me. I'm still going to wait a while before buying a mod (About a month), but I know that when the dust settles and I engage in this system fully, it will be their work that I do buy, since I cannot think of anyone more deserving.

When there is such a outpouring of hate for something like this, and people ranting about the end of modding, it just seems that people take Bethesda games a bit too seriously. Don't get me wrong, TES and Fallout combined are a huge part of my life, and I love them dearly, alongside all the mods. But I would never send a death threat to someone involved in these things, especially a modder who does some of the most amazing mod work I have ever seen.

Chesko, Isoku, all the others, I am happy that you stuck your neck out and tried this. Time will tell if this system is good or not, but you were already my favourite modders before, and nothing will change that.

Let's make sure this Thread stays positive. Alright everyone. There's already enough dirt strewn about everywhere else.

If the OP and other posters are asking you not to rehash your angry statements/arguments in this thread, when you have clearly already aired your viewpoint elsewhere, then kindly respect that.

Stop with the personal attacks, folks. in any thread, any topic.
