Prehistoric (dinosaur aged) Creatures I think would've been appropriate in Skyrim.

Me here with another set of ridiculous ideas. Buttt...

Given how prehistoric themes were used in Skyrim's wildlife, here are a few creatures I think would've been right at home in Skyrim, had Bethesda had the ability to expand and implement them. Mind you I'm not saying Skyrim should be jurassic park, however there are several ancient creatures I think would have been more than fitting.

Had I any knowledge of 3d modelling and creating mods, I would make them all myself for pc. XD

First up, my personal fav, the koolasuchus:

I can easily pictures these guys alongside mudcrabs patrolilng skyrim's rivers, waterways, and morthal's swamps.

Second raptors: (birdlike):

These guys are adorable and birdlike enough but archaic looking to really give themselves an edge in skyrim's wilderness. I can just imagine walking down forested roads with one of them swooping down with a poison bite. XD

Next these guys:

with this texture:

I would just call them sailbacks, but these guys would be bomb in the volcanic geyser region of skyrim in the east in between riften and windhelm. XD

Lastly, not extinct but another salamander:

Despite being outrageously adorable, I think these guys would fit in perfectly scaled up to 10 feet in length in Skyrim's caves. While physically weak, unless you put ribcage armor or something, these guys could be threatening by emitting a poisonous gas that drains fatigue and health and burns the slin. Ouch.

Another animal, not extinct would be Narwhals. They's be perfect in the seas north of Skyrim:

That's all I care to write down, theres several prehistory mammals that would be cool as well, but I won't bother listing those. XD

I just think these creatures would fit in nicely and add a great diversity to the landscapes of Skyrim.

What about more trivial creatures as whales in the See of Ghosts? ;)

This is probably a boring answer but all of those look like they would be more at home in the southern provinces and not in a cold environment like Skyrim's (except the Narwhal). Unless of course the lizards were designs for dragons, which IIRC were supposed to be more diverse. I've definitely considered dragons based on axolotls before.

But yeah, I see those guys more at home in the jungles of Valenwood or Elsweyr or in Black Marsh.

I really wish there had been whales. They feature In all the barrows and there's the whalebone bridge so its not like they didn't exist in that universe.

I think some were avidly hoping for them to appear in Skyrim.

There's a mod called Monster Mod that adds a http://static-8.nexusmods.com/15/mods/110/images/35631-1-1367685916.jpg to Skyrim. To be honest, I didn't think the Triceratops fit in too well. One of the problems I had with it was that Skyrim is filled with signs of civilization (towns, villages, roads, forts, ect) and a large prehistoric animal felt out of place in that environment.

I think it could work in the right circumstance, though. We had http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs30/i/2008/125/6/c/Guar_Wallpaper_by_armelien.jpg and http://static1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20131225185026/elderscrolls/images/1/15/Alit_(Morrowind).png (which I think look a bit like Dinosaurs) in Morrowind, and I think they look at home there. For me a lot depends on the context: on how and where and why the animals are placed.

I really like how there are sabre cats and mammoths in Skyrim, but I don't think dinosaurs fit in the game, as much as they're similar to dragons. I wouldn't mind having more real-life extinct species in the game though.
