Fallout 3FNVElder Scrolls with a gamepad?

Post » Tue Apr 28, 2015 11:31 am

Having only played F3 and FNV on console in the past, I'm now finally going to be buying a PC good enough to play both, but with all kinds of mods installed, so I'll be buying the GOTY versions of both (I also have the early Fallout games). But I'll be hooking the PC up to the HDTV, so I wondered if both games can be played with a gamepad rather than keyboard and mouse?

And actually the same question applies to Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim, as I have the Anthology, which I would love to play with lots of mods, and using a gamepad.

The only game that doesn't work well with a gamepad out of the box is Morrowind and maybe Oblivion too? Not sure. So you will need to use JoyToKey and/or Xpadder to get them to work as you want.

FO3, FNV and Skyrim should all work fine with a 360 controller for Windows right away without any kind of hassle.

Good to know. I wonder if there are mods which might make Morrowind and Oblivion better for gamepad support. I do remember that Morrowind had a system where you had to press number keys to use potions, so hopefully a mod could fix that.

Can't wait to play all these new games with new and then exciting content.
