3ds Max, Morpher and Head Animation

Post » Mon May 04, 2015 10:02 pm

Hello anyone. Now, this isn't exactly about the CS itself... I just hope there are some more experienced modders that can help me out.
I'm making a Dwemer head for Morrowind in 3ds Max 2009, I've made the three different models (one normal, one blinking and one with open mouth). Now what? What settings do I set in the Morpher? I remember seeing a very nice tutorial about an year ago, but now I can't find it...

EDIT: Second question, I wanted to know if it's possible to make a head both morphed and skinned (I wanted to beard not to move with the head whenever the character looks in a direction)

Any help is appreciated, thank you!

I was looking for the same thing a couple of months ago. Look here for the link

You sure 2009 can work with nif files? I was making my head in Max 4

Thank you! I've watched some tutorials about the morpher modifier but I'm not sure it was gonna work. I'll let you know about the final result.
About 3ds Max, I've always used 2009 - NifTools (the plugin I use) works for 2010 too if I remember correctly. Later versions aren't supported unfortunately :\

oh okay then . its pretty straightforward, if my model works any model should. I did it on 1st attempt and it was my 1st max animation ever

It's done. I had some problems with the head blinking and opening the mouth all the time but I solved it copying and pasting it on another head in NifSkope (I think it was because it was missing 'NiTextKeyExtraData). Then I deleted the other head. I've already had this kind of issue when I modified a vanilla head, some time ago. Thanks for the help ;)
