What is your favorite Fallout game?

Post » Sat May 09, 2015 2:17 am

So, I was just curious to know what everyone's favorite Fallout game is. I love them all, except BOS. My favorite would have to be Fallout 2.

New Vegas. So much more to story and detail, I love all the different choices and freedom I have rather than what Fallout 3 gave.

Although Fallout 1 was a fantastic game, I thought 2 brought some needed improvements (albeit too much humor). In order of games I had most fun with? Fallout 2>New Vegas=Fallout>Tactics>Fallout 3

I am NOT saying Fallout 3 was a bad game or that I didn't have fun. I had an enormous amount of fun with Fallout 3 (more than most games out there), but it wasn't my favorite Fallout.

Sadly, I still need to spend more time in New Vegas. I keep hearing how much it resembles the classics, so I might fire it up today and give it a go. I enjoyed Fallout 3 a lot as well, but for some odd reason, I'm just not a huge fan of the graphic direction of the game. I mean, I don't know much about radiation's reaction to skin, but is it supposed to make your face glow? lol, I just thought that was odd.

New Vegas. Never play BoS or Tactics.

Fallout 2. But only by the token of it being the first game in the series I was able to play (and it's the one I've played the most). Afterwards Fallout (1) felt like a tighter and more consistent package, but oddly lacking by comparison.

New Vegas was a nice attempt and had the gameplay delivered, it would've been a competition. Alas, things went how they went.

Fallout 3
It's my favorite. I know a lot of that is nostalgia, but don't care. It's captivated me for a longer duration than any other game I've played.

Out of the two I've played (Fallout 3 and New Vegas) I pick New Vegas. 3 is a great game to play, but NV just has that moral grey in the writing.

The only potential winners are Fo1, Fo2, FoNV while FoT get some credits.

I was way more into the societies that you could visit in Fo2 cities, amongs other things.

They exploited very well the fact that post-apocalyptic world allow to create societies with new rules.

New Vegas, definitely.

The perfect balance between the moral choices and RPG mechanics of the older titles and sandbox exploration from Fallout 3. :)

I voted FOT as it is the FO title I have played the most, and combines two things I enjoy, RPG and Strategy games. Plus, it is a better FO3 than FO3 is.

But if it was just the FO RPGs, then 2, simply because I can still remember the first time I made it to the rig and what an epic adventure it felt like. FoT, 1, 2, and NV are all very close together, with 3 being a notch down. I had fun with 3, but the story elements will forever keep it in last.

FO2, followed by FONV. So many dialog options you had in FO2, it was really just incredible. So many ways to screw up the world or save it. Just loved that game.

I'm surprised to see so little love for the first one. I mean for me, it was kind of a tie between the second game and the first one. I've always thought that the community was kind of the same way.

There are a lot of people who never played 1, 2, or Tactics. I usually give love to one of those three each poll that comes up like this, as they are all favorites and would make my top 10 list of video games.

Well they need to get on that lol, some of the best games I've ever played, especially the first one, very dark game.

3. The wrold was just so well done and explorable.

NV was good, storywise, but the world was just so... empty. :(

This was my only gripe with NV, it feels a bit cramped. Sure, there are still places to explore but I really liked going into almost inaccessible abandoned buildings like in Fallout 3 and exploring that. All the different caves in NV were sorta fun to explore, though.
