Skyrim is single player - no followers

The use of followers depends on my current RP. Followers can really add to your RP or take away from it.

My pyromancer has two permanent flame thralls floating around her and it's perfect for that character. Similarly, my necromancer has a few select reanimated NPC helping out.

Any assassin character of mine will never have a follower.

for me, it's absolutely ridiculous on beth's part to not implement (AND EXPAND, IMPROVE, INNOVATE) upon new vegas' superior system. it truly befuddles, but, is to be expected.

It's Beth that made NV?

obviously, i never said they developed nv. equally obvious is that they are the publishers.

therefore, they can use the superior nv system. as well, i'm pretty sure that different games borrow or take certain creative elements of other games, change/alter them and make them their own.

thus, if a game like twoworlds1 can have a quality horse combat system with horse whistling, a publisher such as beth would be able to take that system, improve/change it and create their own brand.

I think it was Obsidian who developed NV... but it's still a Beth title, as LOBdawgz pointed out.

It seems to me that the AI of followers is different , i never understood why people picked up Lydia for example and not other ones ..she is the most useless follower, boring and weak.. there are some underrated interesting followers who are fun to have and pretty useful .. I take followers with me for the immersion and not to feel lonely..and to back me up if something goes wrong :P

My character likes to sometimes travel with a follower just for fun and a change in pace. She simply accepts the need for quite a bit of accommodation as part of the challenge - but not on a long term basis.

When it comes to actually doing business, she prefers the surgical precision and reliability of summons. She's a no-melee mystic archer. Followers often do fine while she snipes from very long range. Her other favored tactic though is the use of illusion mind control spells to start fights. She frenzies a crowd then evaporates back into undetected shadow until she can quietly snipe the only wounded survivor. Followers play havoc with this tactic.

I use them for instances I feel I myself would require help if it were actually me doing the task. I like looking around during a fight and seeing my followers keeping my back clear. You have to find the right followers. There a few who don't trip over you in combat.

Or the ones who seem to die after one dumb power attack from a bandit...
