- The Person
Hi all, i'm Cristian Germino and i'm a 18 years old guy of Italy, i'm of course a fan of bethesda games.
I'm studying right now how to program in C# and how to sculpt 3D models with Zbrush and 3Ds Max, and I'm using Photoshop too.
My ambition is that in a near future I'll be a Game Designer for a future Software House of mine...(sorry for bad english)
I'm excited too to write here, "in front" of a lot of people that can read me, maybe they can laugh at me, maybe they will like me...
Why I'm here? well, i'm here because I trust in your attention and because I belive in my idea, after years.
- The Idea
The idea i have in my mind since some year is a game, this one would be an RPG-Sandbox, of course open world with a multi-regional architecture. Now i'll try to explain my mind, it's not complete at all, but I'll finish, or we can do it together:
- Genre -Main Features
Single/Multi player *1
First Person
Medieval Fantasy
Skill based
RPG-Sandbox
-
In-deep Character creation
Real Crafting *2
"Creative" Artificial intelligence *3
Casual Quest generator *4
Open World Multi-regional *5
Immersive Multiplayer
Total realism *6
Real time advancing *7
Great Sense of Death*8
The Character Creation:
I think that the Character creation has to be very deep, the player has to stay hours to create the character, because it's very important for the game...
The structure of the Creation has to be like this one
1)Name - Surname - Date of birth
2)Race - Class
3)Face - Body shape
4)Strengths - Weaknesses
5)Initial Attributes
6)Confirm
1)Name - Surname - Date of Birth
I think you know how it works, but i have a new idea for the Date of Birth, it will change your character in many ways, like the character design too, because younger it will be, more the character will be short and will have less initial attributes, but more maximal attributes, i think that the time advance for real and the characters will grow, and die for real!
2)Race - Class
This will be, secon my opinion, very interesting because i think that all race has to have subraces with unique bonus and malus, i wrote 10, and i say 10, "Great Races" that has different numbers of sub races. Little different is the class sistem: there's no levels, only skills, so the starting class just identify what you will do in the game, and it will give to you a starting kit of items.
Races - Numbers of subraces
Human - 3
Dwarfs - 3
Elfs - 3
Orcs - 3
Undeads - 3
Halfbreeds - 8
Lesser Demons - 3
Lesser Angels - 3
Half-animals - 5
Great Classes - Classes - Specialition
Fighting - 8 - Depends
Knowledge - 5 - depends
Survival - 5 - Depens
3)Face - Body
Face and body will be useful in terms of game, because the game will be set in a medieval world with a lot of prejudices, infact, if your character will have white, blue, RED, and "non normal" hair colour, your character will have a lot of problem in some cities, this if for the face and hair... talking about body's shape is different because i think that it will be usefull in game, because the body will give to the character some attributes, like constitution, dexterity and strength, how? easy... the creation of the character will be very in deep, so the player can choice the initial state of the muscles and of the bones, if they can be more developed or less, if the muscles has more fast, slow or intermediate fibers and so on (not too much in deep of course) so the initial attributes will grow or collapse depending on the shape of the character, this is for make something more realistic, i mean... a 200 kg orc will be more powerful than a human of 90 kg but, of course it will be slower... i never saw anything similar in game...
4)Strengths - Weaknesses
This point will give something bonus or malus depending on what you decide to put in your character, is optional and you have 2 poin of bonus and a malus (if you put 2 bonus you have to put 1 malus)
5)Initial attributes
So, you can choice you initial attributes, they will be generated thanks the race, the class and the body and the date of birth
this means that once you've selected the main attributes you can develope all attributes to max, without limits (unless the max of the character) younger will be your character is in character creation, less will be minimal attributes but more will be the max attributes- e.g.:
Human - Middle - 50 years old at C.C.: has 50 streingth at start and his max is 125
Human - Middle - 18 years old at C.C.: has 25 streinght at start and his max is 150
6)Confirm
Well...congratulations, you can play now!
Game Settings
Now i'm going to talk about the settings of the game, like the reference date, the environments and so on.
1)Real reference date
2)Environment
1)Real reference date
The game will be set in the period that is from 1100 to 1450
2)Environment
The world map will be giant, so the environment will be very, very different depending in which zone of the world are you situated, i think that the game world has to be like our Earth concept...but more extreme ant beutyful
- Notes
Here's the notes, the one with the "*"
*1) Single/Multi Player: the game will be single player at start, after doing enough "Fame" that you'll gain doing good or bad action you'll able to use a teleport (something in the plot of the game) and you'll be teleported in the multiplayer universe, you'll keep your character
*2) Real Crafting: With Real Crafting i mean that you'll can use real materials for do your weapons and armors and you will have a great costumization of the weapon or armor that you'll make, i mean something that you need a real anvil and hammer, real skinning table and knife
*3) "Creative" artificial intellingence: like TES4: Oblivion, i want an artificial intelligence that can interct with realism with in game object and do what "real" people do
*4) Casual Quest simulator: here we go, i think that this game will simulate real life, so quests will appears in the main tavern on a board where people is looking for help, or you can go to people and talk with them for see if they need or not your help... E.G:
there's a pack of wolves near the town, the people will give a reward to you if you help them
there's no food in town, go hunting and give some food to the townpeople
*5)OpenWorld Multi-Regional: it's easy to understand what is it, but i think that the world has to be divided in nations, regions... like the actual world, but with fantasy states
*6)Total Realism: Weather, damages, temperatures and time will affect your gameplay, every character will need to drink, to eat, to sleep to go to bathroom. in combat it will be very immersive because if a person will hit your hand, for example, you'll be not able to use it unless you heal it.
*7)Real time Advancing: like i said in "date of birth", it's a very immersive feature of the game, this will give to you a great list of things to do in a certain time, because you'll never know when your character will die for long age, maybe he'll get a ill and will die with time, etc etc...
*8)Great Sense of Death: this point, this one is very important for me, because it will give a reason to interact with players online and with NPC in singleplayer: when your character will die, you have to do another character unless you'll have a heir, or heiress, you have to make up a family if you want to continue playing with your family bonusses, or you will have to make always new character without the joy to continue your dinasty
- Conclusion
And now... now i'm going to thank you all for the attention you've paid for reading this and giving to me a chance to share my own opinion. I'll read here for some answers and suggestions, I'm going to give attention just to people that will write civilly and will five to me constructive, and not distructive comments, I already know that be a Game Designer, a true one, is difficult and my "job" that I've just shared with you know is nothing, but at least i've tried!
P.S: the name of this, for the moment, is Project Omnia
