Wow. I mean I'm not shocked but it's still sad to see another legend leave us. May he play his sweet rhythms to the spirits of beyond.

I had the privilege of seeing BB King perform on two occasions back in the mid-70's. He performed with a pretty large band, including a horn section. Both concerts were extraordinarily powerful. Recordings don't do BB King justice. Even his live recordings didn't capture the astounding energy of his live shows. He had the power to knock your head right off your shoulders from the first song to the last song.

I guess the best thing that can be said about this is that at least he didn't die young. He lived a long and full life and he gave us many years of music and for that we can be very grateful.

Am I having mad déjà vu or didn't he didn't die last week? This is seriously tripping me out. I think I dreamt that he died actually...

I think last week it was announced he was under home hospice care. He had been hospitalized.
