Does anyone know the name of the sound effect for the thumping noises scribs make? It's not in the scrib folder in the creature directory, and I've been looking outside there and haven't found it. I'd like to revert that sound to vanilla, because something I've installed has made the noises very loud and somewhat terrifying, but without reverting everything else? help?

It's in folder 'sound/fx', file named 'bodyfallMED.wav'

Hmm.. That file doesn't seem to be overwritten, and the noise that I'm hearing isn't similar to that. I wonder what's making that dreadful noise then.

The Scrib noise can be loud, but stock it's not so loud I would feel the need to reduce it. It just seems to be right behind you when the Scrib is on the other side of the hill.

So, what mods do you have that added sounds to the game? Investigate those mods, use a BSA Unpacker if you have to to find the sound file and then you can replace it. If for some reason the stcok sound is no longer in your directory, you can unpack the BSAs of the stock game, grab the sound file and put that in the appropriate sound folder.

I had ASE installed. Completely dropped that. Got rid of everything it added using Wrye Mash. Sound persists. Tried installing MAO. Sound persists. My only BSAs are the vanilla ones, TR, Windows Glow, and the Mudcrab Merchant, none of which have sounds inside them.
