Trivial Things that Annoy Me in FNV

Post » Sat May 23, 2015 4:12 pm

1, Turning on a radio, and getting only static. Such as in the Lucky 38. Still getting power, but no reception?

2. When my Luck is 8, winning at blackjack is almost trivial. But I have NEVER won on the slot machines, not even once.

3. "The sun is killing me" - this graffiti is more mysterious than annoying, The wiki says it is found on a rock at Boulder Springs, but I have found it two other places instead.

I'm starting to think it is found in a different random place every time you start a new game.

How about you?

When I forget about the Legion Assassins who are after me. I'm usually in the middle of something when I'll get pulled into conversation "By the mark of Caesar you must die!" (or w/e they say), then I'm getting shot to death before I have time to get my bearings.

Reloading automatically when your weapon is spent always annoyed me. I can never cancel the internal magazine weapons reload animation very reliabily. Thankfully there are mods for such a thing, and I got a mod that stops the reload animation and saves the state of the weapon so you are forced to reload it to full later. That thing is slick.

Also the .357 revolver has a big problem with VATS. I do love me some clicky clacky revolvers, and the Colt Single Action is as old west as it gets, but theres a nasty bug where my character will...Well, im not really sure how to describe it. Run in place and do nothing? I think its the backing up animation that the model plays. It even breaks VATS itself since while my character is backpedaling in place the entire VATS sequence stops after a while and the legionaries rip me to shreds until the pipboy starts functioning again and I actually take the shots. There are no mods to fix this. Not very slick.

The service rifle is a perfect choice for a soldier character, or atleast a rifle similar to it, but all of the M16 pattern rifles in the game charge from the side and that just looks really wonky even if we can say that these are not 100% realistic guns. But then ive got myself a modded M16A2 for my character that loves his high-tech bullet guns. It's got custom animations so that it charges like a real M16, and with it being a seperate weapon from the rest of the game I can tune the stats on it to get it to feel closer to what would be a late game weapon instead of something bog standard NCR troopers can cut legionaries to ribbons with (Not that they need the help). This thing is very slick.

2 out of 3 really minor problems being completely cured by mods is a good track record, I'd say.

I just have them dart infront of me at random and open fire. Most of the time I dont even see them in the distance, just notice myself taking damage and try to find that guy with the brush gun that can actually get through the massive DT ive built up

Weak power of the Pipboy Light. What I'd do for a decent flashlight in the game.

Inability of weapons from 1 dlc to work with a perk from another dlc.

Too many loading screens to get to the Lucky 38 when I'm using it as a base. And couldn't they have put a working oven or hotplate in there. Having to go to Freeside to find a fire is a pain.

But they are all pretty trivial complaints.
