Documenting How to Mod Morrowind

Post » Sun May 24, 2015 6:22 am

Elaura made a comment that resonated a lot with me

I am very grateful for the work Ghanburighan, Yacoby and Melian put into scripting for dummies and refer to it a lot when modding

To have a manual to refer to is extremely helpful - the MWSE manual was unfortunately not written for dummies - I personally think modding could be greatly improved with some easy to read, with example type tutorials

If you have links to tutorials or wish to start a WIP thread on a document where others can add their experience that would be extremely useful to helping the community improve

Many of the links in our stickies are now dead - I couldn't find this gem when searching online for it so here is a link to my copy of http://1drv.ms/1JVKMkC

This sounds like it could be part of the http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1513073-morrowind-modding-wiki-thread-ii/?hl=%2Bmorrowind+%2Bmodding+%2Bwiki#entry23920790

One of the hardest things I found about modding Bethesda games starting out, was digging through different wikis, videos, pictures and forums for information. Consciously Consolidating our contributions under one roof would be a great initiative.

What Mikedzines said, your post belongs to the Morrowind Modding wiki discussion and MWSE already have a separate page http://wiki.theassimilationlab.com/mmw/Category:Scripting. So feel free to add anything that's to do with modding to the Morrowind Modding Wiki on TAL.

I know there are lot of dead links in http://www.gamesas.com/topic/24-comprehensive-tutorial-and-useful-link-list/ pinned thread, but I manged to restore some links by using the http://wayback.archive.org/web/.

Besides MWSFD, something I refer constantly to is the http://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/6845/, which lists and describes pretty much everything in the Construction set.

Another goodie is the http://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/42296/, which has all the various spoken dialogue responses various NPCs can make.

Best,
