Well, this evening while I was watching TV I heard three loud pops on my living room window (fairly large - faces the street). Went out - no one in sight but I heard voices about several houses up. I hosed off the egg off the window and went back in. Two more pops against the front door. This time I just stayed in. About 45 minutes later there was a loud bang against the security door on my front door, looked out and no one there. About a half hour after that it sounded like someone kicked my garage door. I didn't call the police, but I'm pretty sure its some guys about early high school age three houses up (kind of ghetto-ish people). Weird thing is, I've really only talked to my immediate neighbors on either side and we get along well. I've never had any issue with anyone else on the street. I'm quiet, keep to myself, don't work for the schools or have kids which might make my house a target. I just don't understand the sudden harassment.

Should I call the cops if it happens again? Just ignore it and keep scrubbing egg off the front of my house? My thought is to just ignore it and hope they move on to someone else. I hate things like this - makes a person feel a bit uneasy living in their own house. Anyone else have something happen like this out of the blue?

I think ignore it, and not seem to give a damn, which will hopefully make them stop. People like that get bored if they're not getting a reaction. However, if they start thinking it'll be funny to always egg the same place, you're going to have to take it further. Let them do it another couple of times - if they don't let up, you'll have to decide whether to call the police. Anyway, make a note of the times it happens and the dates, and take pictures. That'll be used as evidence for any future discussion with the police. I would caution against confronting them directly. That sort of thing can lead to you being arrested or killed. Not worth the hassle. It's probably just drunk idiots. Have a word with your neighbours and see if they heard anything that night. If they did it to your entire road, it might be worth getting the police involved as soon as the first egg hits your window the next time it happens, so to nip it in the bud immediately. That way you'll at least have the backup of your neighbours, so are less likely to incur retaliatory aggression.

Buy a really big dog, or 3.

Seriously though, call the Police. Maybe get a video surveillance system, always fun when you have the video proof to point at the culprits who will invariably deny any involvement.

Might be rando, when I was young we egged and water ballooned random houses. Though keeping at the same house and kicking doors does sound targeted, or maybe they're just really bored. If it keeps on for over a day just call the cops.

It's just some kids being moronic so unless it turns into a regular thing I'd just ignore it. Dogs, cops and security systems is a bit overkill for an isolated incident...but if they keep coming back feel free to go all out

I hate when things like that happen. It′s not dangerous so you can′t react as powerful as you′d like but it annoys the living *beep* out of you. I′ll chime in with the others; if it keeps on happening, take pictures, note the date and hour and if it doesn′t stop, go to the cops.

Look at the Sunny side of things, at least these kids bothered putting down their phones to do anything. It may happen again, or it may not. Just fill your yard with quicksand and the second they step onto it let it do it's job.
