Hey everyone, it's been ages but I guess I couldn't find much of anything to ask for help about but here I am again.

The first one is the Dwemer Converter which I found in a Dwemer where house building outside the ruin which house the location of the Staff of Magnus. Now I walked up to it and looked inside but it was empty and there wasn't any scrolls or books laying around which could tell me what it was for so I'm hoping one of you might, reply soon as possible any help with be appreciated

The second is the poxy Soul Gem Fragments which look like fragments of black soul gems. I don't know if there is a connected between them and the converter to create full Black soul gems but I've got a few dozens of these fragments and haven't found any reference to them anywhere in Skyrim. mind shedding some light on this please? thanks

The Converters are a part of a College of Winterhold Questline.

Soulgem Fragments are just decorational clutter.

that's pretty underwhelming I thought the soul gems would be a little more important

Boy! And when I think of the hours I've spent trying to glue those fragments back together... Heh, just kidding!

For the longest I thought they would have some use but never found anything. I do like to fill bowls with them in my house and think they look a bit like a bowl of candy that way...

So... anybody ever seen a soul gem break?
