Horrors of the Post-Apocalypse

Ok. I have been a veteran of the TES roleplaying community for awhile. I haven't however had my shot at Fallout. I have just finished fallout 3 for my first time (sad I know) and I thought I would have a hand at giving this community here a rather fun and engaging style of roleplaying. I will not be writing out a large and elaborate OP until I find out if you guys would participate.

History:
(very short compared to what it will be)
In the year 2163 the Capital Wasteland is ravaged by turf wars between developing raider, wastelander, and even civilized settlements are waged. Megaton does not exist, and the founders of Rivet City still hide in the inner bowls of the ship. It is a time less than a hundred years since the great wars and supplies compared to 2277 (the timeframe of Fallout 3). Gasoline is still in use, and fixed trucks and other vehicles can be seen ocassionally along the waste, including caravans and Brotherhood Of Steel patrols.

Objective:

http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/d/d6/Wastelandmap.png

In this roleplay you begin your conquest with no fewer than 50 followers, whether they be raiders, slavers, wastelanders, or what the evils of the wastes call "civilized". You begin with one of the WASTELAND territories which is any location outside of the DC area. The reason for this is that the DC is still heavily irradiated and plagued by beasts and ghouls. So sorry you can't have the Citadel, Museums, Washington monument, etc I will be including Raven Rock only as a cave.

I (heldwyn) will moderate the roleplay.

The objective is with your gang/faction/army/settlement to conquer the unclaimed territories, make alliances and forge out your own empire. You play the leader of your faction (who will RARELY see combat if they do you have a chance of taking serious damages or serious rewards) who oversees the commands throughout your designated "turf". I will roleplay the enemy and give you your casulties. I will explain more in the thread.

Model
(Many of you ahve probably never seen a roleplay like this before so bear with me)

Character Sheet:

Name: Bobby "Big" Savage

Age: 23

Strengths: Charisma (highest skill and attribute, as leaders you will have high charismas/intelligence/luck)

Type/Karma: Wastelander--neutral ( Slavers and Raiders will typically be evil and you must roleplay as such, wastelanders neutral and civilized will be good)

Settlement: (example) Big Town(39)-- (Iw ill give you description of the current state of the location, in the roleplay you can launch operations to fortify etc. if I think you have enough resources and manpower)

History: Will leave this out its a gimme (of your character)

Physical Appearance: (of your character, includes weapons and armor)

Faction

Faction name: Big Town Settlers

Faction History: Big town Settlers settle big town (make it at least a paragraph and some elaboration?)

Income: 500 Caps ( this is your income make sure to keep track of income, every RL day you gain income. Conquering more locations will increase your income)

Troops: (each type of faction will have its own tier of troops that you can purchase through income)

(50) Wastelanders (Big Town): Wastelanders are simply the people of the wasteland, they are scroungers they do necessary goods and evils and do what they can to survive. Typically armed in wastelander clothing and jumpsuits. They are proficient usually with small guns and melee weapons. These Big Town wastelanders are armed with a .32 Pistol knife and have the brown cloth headband signifying allegiance.

This is just an example of a character sheet.

Wastelander Troop Tier
(partial only like 20% finished)

Wastelander
Price: 200 caps
Info: Wastelanders are simply the people of the wasteland, they are scroungers they do necessary goods and evils and do what they can to survive. Typically armed in wastelander clothing and jumpsuits. They are proficient usually with small guns and melee weapons.
Outfits: (Choose between one of the outfits)
-.32 pistol and a Knife/Armor-(any Wastelander Outfit)

Wastelander Guard
Price: 400
Info: These men and women are guards of wastelander settlements and caravans, they are proficient in melee weapons, small guns and have a decent explosive skill.
Outfits:
-Hunting Rifle, Combat Knife, 1 Frag Grenade/Armor-
-10mm Sub Machine Gun, Baseball Bat, 1 Frag Grenade/Armor-Leather Armor

Wastelander Veteran
Price: 700
Info: These men and women are veterans of the wastes having lasted their entire life under their own protection and wits. They have survived long enough on their own and are proficient in small guns and melee.
Outfits:
-Assault Rifle, Combat Knife, 3 Frag Grenades/Armor-Combat Armor

Etc....

SO this is a taste.

Feel free to ask questions the more I kind of just explain it the better.

In my personal opinion, this really looks good. Probably because it looks like risk and starcraft, which I love(though svck at) and absolutely would join this if possible. If you can make this work, I think this would be one hell of a RP. Thats what I think at least.

First two sentences apply perfectly to me as well. If I join, please try to keep the beatings as painless as possible.

Yeah you see this works if people stay interested we used to do this all the time in TES Fan Fiction I think it better applies to fallout though. I'll be finishing up everything if I get enough people interested.

Oh by the way, depending on how well you roleplay your faction in BEING the faction it would be, having certain things like scientists would allow your technology to be better (turret systems, radar, energy weapons) stuff like that and I passively take all sorts of information into account.

Civilized settlements will be starting at Vaults that are seen opened in the game.

Raiders and Slavers I generally want to settle in places they are seen in the game like Super Duper Mart and Springvale etc and I envisioned Wastelanders taking places like Arefu, Big Town, Evergreen Mills (big actual settlement-like places)

The civilized people will have Vault-tech gear etc in the beginning, a defensible area but their stuff is more expensive.

raiders will have well, raider gear and along with slavers will be cheaper but less efficient troops.

Wastelanders will be relatively neutral costing according with gear to play a well balanced faction.

Slavers will have access to slaves.

Yes everyone will be able to have Power Armored units and such....

Brotherhood of Steel esque soldiers for the Civilized, Ashur (as seen in the Pitt) esque soldiers for slavers and raiders, and outcast esque power armor for wastelanders. This would take awhile.

Are you saying that power armor will be available for everyone? I definately don't think that should be so, it would cause alot of problems, and it would be very unrealistic. I plan on joining this RP, I just think that Power Armor should be strictly for the Bos, the Outcasts and the Enclave. Now maybe if a wastelander or someone would somehow join the BoS (Whis is very unlikely), then, they would most likely get Power Armor training, and have the ability to wear it.

Its seen that powerful player characters and people alike (Ashur for example) have obtained and do wear power armor. I'm saying that there are TROOPS that can have power armor in the upper part of each faction's troop tier. They would be very expensive troops, highly trained mercenary leaders, slave lords, defunct BoS stuff like that.

So basically power armor guys are like Carriers and Battlecruiser, they take a long time, and a [censored] load of resources, and once you have them they there were the rest, hitting the heavy targets and trying to open the way for your infantry. I really would like to join this, it's seems like the funniest one I've ever been in, so I hope you get this started soon. And what's up DB, haven't talked you in so long.

Funniest? And do we have to use those factions, or can we make up our own, but follow the alignment examples?

Woops, slept on the couch last night and I'm sleep deprived, anyway I wouldn't care if we follow the factions, personally. But I still would follow the factions he's made regardless and I think it's best to stick with those, what other factions can we use anyway?

I would like to join, but, for some odd reason, I'm having a sort of "Rper writers block" Which won't allow me to do much, and do it too far apart...

Oh of course those arent THE factions. The point is to create your own and depending on what you are I will tell you what troops you can purchase from each ranking tier (its how I will classify troops) plus I will have a neutral tier for troops everyone can buy like robotrains, Mr. Gutsy, Sentry Bots, Guard/Attack Dogs, Ghoul bodyguards (like Charon), Talon Company etc.
