As far as I know, there were no good games made in 2014. 2015 is looking like more of the same, the big premium ("AAA") games for the year are probably Witcher 3 and Fallout 4.
I have no interest in post-apocalyptic/horror/survival games. I'm not saying that Fallout 4 is going to be a lousy game, I'm just saying that it's not my style.
Witcher 3: WAY too much dark/gritty/mature. 3edgy5me. No thanks.
Here's the problem. Almost every premium game these days is dark/gritty/mature. Does anyone know any premium games that aren't?
Main problem: there's no originality in the video game industry anymore. Everyone just clones everyone else's design and mechanics, resulting in a bland and cliche market with a few dominant "flavors of the year". If you like none of the "flavors of the year" then you get nothing new.

Something else I'm looking for: Single-player/multi-character games with real-time combat option that aren't made by Bioware/EA. I've been seeing a lot of turn-based only single-player/multi-character games recently such as Legend of Grimrock and Might and Magic 10, but those are designed in the old grid-based style and there's only so much that can be done with turn-based only.
