Simple Mouse Problem

Hello all!

I am very new to the Fallout games, as I decided to join the excitement for Fallout 4 by buying fo3 goty. So far, I LOVE the game but I do have some minor issues.

The first issue I had was the mouse speed. It moves very fast on the x axis, but very slow on the y axis making it very uncomfortable to use. To fix that, I edit the .ini settings to:

[Controls]
bBackground Mouse=1
fForegroundMouseAccelBase=0.00001
fForegroundMouseAccelTop=100
fForegroundMouseBase=0.0
fForegroundMouseMult=0.0

This totally fixed the problem with the mouse, but now I had this horrible issue where the game minimizes randomly. Doing more research, I found that it could be a problem with Fallout 3 running on my Windows 8.1 os. To fix that, I've switched the compatibility mode to Windows xp, and that too seemed to solve the problem!

But here's the real issue. When I switch the compatibility mode to Windows xp, somehow the mouse in the game reverts to being super fast on the x axis again.

- So here's my question. Why does switching the compatibility mode to Windows xp seem to change my mouse settings in the .ini files?

My systems specs:

Intel i5 6950k oc'd to 4.5ghz

Nvidia GTX 960

8gb of ram

223gb ssd (crucible i think)

The system IS running on triple monitors (5260x1050 res at 59hz), I'm not sure if that has anything to do with mouse speed or not?

Anyways, any input would be fantastic! I've only got 4 hours on the game, and I am already completely addicted to its awesomeness. Thanks for the help guys,

-Addison
