Freeze when opening containers.

Came back to fallout new vegas after a break, and, without changing any of my mod set up, the game will freeze when opening a container of any kind without ever recovering [this is not the lag issue fixed by pcb, either]. If I alt-tab the menu will still show, but if I continue the game the screen just goes in game with no menu for the container and an inability to exit. I removed Project Nevada and FOOK, and the issue still persists. My mod setup has never had this issue before. Nor have I ever had this kind of an issue.

When these games sit for a while, something weird sometimes happens to the INIs. Delete both of them in the My Documents/My Games/Fallout 3 area (ini and prefs) and restart the game and let it generate new ones. Note, any changes you made will be thrown out, so you need to put those back. This may or may not fix things but it has often enough to try it.

IF your files are heavilly modified, just rename them to something like Old_Fallout3 or something so you can put them back just in case.

Now, the main reason for container issues, especially with large mods that change the leveled lists are related to what has happened to your leveled lists. Try rebuilding your Bashed Patch, but look at each section and see if there are things to check. Select each on the left, look at the right pane and see what is in there. Most of the time you want to select the left side* if there is anything on the right, and usually you want all the things on the right selected. But, this is not a hard and fast rule, so maybe you leave some things unchecked. Good news is, if you mess the patch up, the game does not even load, so you can go back and tweak without worrying about whether the game will mess up later on.

*Race mods, those that change the player's body or NPCs are some of the ones you may not want to check, this just needs experimentation with your mix.

I tried and removed AWOP from this game as it just required too many compatibility patches and even with all of them in place, things just did not work right.

Also, MMUE is more an overhaul than a Unoffical Patch. If you want a UOP, just use YUP and jettison MMUE. Unless you like all the changes that MMUE makes to the game. And, you can cut down your load order by getting WMXUE which is a combined mod for WMX and all it's parts.

Well, I was about to delete my post and mention that I fixed it, it was an issue with my UI mods preventing the container UI from loading. I reinstalled DarnUI and it worked. Thanks anyways! :D
