I would like to make my follower a personnal steward for my house, but before that I would like to know if I can change the outfit or if they will keep the one I put on him?

For exemple, I gave him a full "epic" elven armor and I would like to know if he will keep this equipment when he will be a steward?

Nope! They retain their special armour and weapon sets for combat. But once released to continued stewardly duties they go back to their standard issue kit. You can temporarily make them get changed by accessing their inventory and adding or taking something, that forces them to equip for combat.

ok. That's weird that it's not an option in the default game... Do you think it could work if I remove all his default clothes from him before asking him to be my steward?

Not sure! If you're on pc and can remove default apparel then maybe they will equip whatever you've left available. All
I can confirm is what happens on Xbox and ps 3.

There is an odd glitch with Lydia whereby she can wear a particular green a white dress in place of her armour. Can't remember where to find it though. There's lots of that colour and style, but I think it was only one particular item she equiped.

Default clothes regenerate in inventory, I believe.

I have Illia as a steward and I used the console to give her a dress and have her equip it. When I took her adventuring with me again, she switched to the combat gear she had in inventory (I then had to re-equip her house gear when she went back to steward duties).
