Need Help with CK: Crash when editing AI package tab

Post » Sun Jun 14, 2015 9:56 am

First of all, thanks for taking a look on my topic. I just started modding 2 weeks ago when I tried to make some changes to a house mod I downloaded just for my personal preference. I've finished most of the youtube tutorials about making player home, ai package, and making NPCs. So when I try to add some AI packages with the "sandbox" template finally, everything works just fine until I click and edit the "location" of the sandbox. Whenever I try to change the location to "in cell" or "near reference," CK will crash immediately once I click "OK" to save the changes.

I've been googling the problem for a few hours but it doesn't seem to occur to other modders. I'm using Win8.1, 64-bit. I'd edited the skyrimeditor.ini to allow multiple masters following the tutorials. I also checked the compatability option "WinXp service pack 3" and "run as administrator" for for SKSE, TESV and CK launcher. I also tried verifying the integrity of the game cache and nothing really works out except for the ini file I edited manully to enable multiple masters.

But I do have over 130+ mods with my skyrim game. Most are about climates...textures...survival features like frostfall...animals and human followers... player homes (I'm so fond of those wonderful house mods)...new lands/quests like Helgan reborn....and all other popular mods to make the game better. And so far the game still works well. Although I only load the required masters and the mod I'm editing, just wonder will other mods cause problems with CK?

And thank you again for anyone trying to help! Will be waiting to try out any possible solutions or hints!

i do know sandbox and find procedures to sometimes crash my ck (just like any try to edit sound descriptors btw) when you add them without having made according package data first (like some float for sandbox, some target selector for find etc).

can't tell about changes to templated packages specifically though, never use them (but make my own), but there's 2 general things you could try anyway:
1) before you edit the location, try to make the package non-template (just select "none" for package, procedure tree will become edible without further changes)

2) instead of changing an existing location, make a new one and use that (you can just select another one in the according procedure once it's not templated)

3) if all else fails, use tes5edit to enter your desired location.

edit: ok that's 3 things. see where it'll take you listening to advice from people who can't even count up to 3... ,-)
