Yes!!
I was one of the Rebels haters, I loathed it and picked it apart and wanted The Clone Wars back, but I stopped being so close minded and REALLY watched it, and I just fell in love. Rebels is Star Wars at it's core.
The Clone Wars was more focused on action than any real character development. The series jumped around too much without giving us a full history. The characters are just there as if you're expected to know about them. Ahsoka, in my opinion, is stealing the show away from the Ghost. It feels that way. Look, I love Ahsoka, even though she wasn't as developed as I would have liked in TCW, but the show is, and is supposed to be, about the Rebels. I don't want anymore Ahsoka/Hondo/Rex adventures. They had their chance in TCW. I just feel like they're gonna take too much focus and screentime away from Hera, Kanan, Ezra, Sabine, Zeb and Chopper, the true heart of the show. Ahsoka, to me, is pretty overrated right now. I love her a lot, but I've gotten more attached to the Ghost than any character in TCW.
Some of the episodes were sort of dumb because the characters that for a dramatic danger plot was overdone because they're still alive in Episode III, so like, what's the point?
Now, don't get me wrong, this critism is hard for me to give, but Rebels is fresh, totally new characters that you feel for, that you truly don't want to lose.
People are complaining it isn't as dark. Star Wars was never about darkness, but it DOES get dark. Darker than Clone Wars. Rise of the Old Masters was just heartbreaking. I wasn't expecting Luminara to not just be dead, but to be used like that. The Inquisitor is miles better than the joke Grievous was, and he brought a darker edge and just was genuinely terrifying. You feel they're in danger, anyone can die, anything can happen, which gives it much better potential.
Rebels is truly an outstanding show and I can't WAIT for the Second Season. TOMORROW!!!
