[WIP] Bone Monster Compendium

Post » Tue Jun 23, 2015 4:30 pm

Since I had so much fun making that http://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/43691/?, and I need something to do during my break from my Sotha Sil project, I've decided to make an entire collection of skeletal horrors friends for all to fear enjoy.

First up, the https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtBs8xySops&feature=youtu.be. I don't think there's anything for me to say about it, other than it needs to be freakier-looking. Maybe. You tell me.

I have a couple others in the works, but they're too incomplete to show just yet. They're scarier than the Bone Horseman, though mostly because they're huge, and armored.

lol that was fun. Great animations and models but I got a weird sixual vibe there.... Maybe try a horse skull on the ehr horse? Anyway nice work, looking forward to what you come up with next. :)

Hehe, looking forward to seeing what else you do, as the bone spider was fantastic!

P.s. I named him Bob, because who doesn't want a pet Spider made out of bones named Bob?

oo

Do skull-snakes, heads with the spines still attached. They could use the kwama forager animations. Flying/Swimming versions might be freaky too.

I see a lot of potential with that bone horseman. The head does seem odd. If nothing else, it looks too small. But I love the concept!

Looks interesting - not entirely my style, but definately interesting.

Perhaps the Helm of Oreyn Bearclaw? TR has Argonian, Khajiit and Orc skulls, there is the Nordic Trollbone Helm and the skull Ascended sleepers turn into upon death. Though most of these would need a retexture to match the other bones...

W-O-W.

Yup, I concur that the "horse" head looks too small...

The bonewolf head, too, maybe.

Or some modder resource for MW animals skulls... a kagouty or guar skull would be awesome :D

Speaking of Bloodmoon, Hircine's mask could also work.

Thanks for the input, everyone. I'll think of something to do with the horse head, though bear in mind that these monsters are meant to look more like jacked up laboratory experiments than what happens to the corpse of a regular (for TES standards anyway) creature when you re-animate it and all the fleshy bits fall off. I'm thinking of doing two versions of the Bone Horseman, one where the "horse" looks the way it does now, and one where it's a bit more beastly. This is a resource pack, after all, I don't necessarily need a specific place for these freaky creations in mind, so the more the merrier. Or scarier, perhaps.

Anyway, I'm sure we've all had boneless chicken from the grocery store a time or two, right? Well, I'll bet no one's ever wanted a https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yedpzJlkT3o&feature=youtu.be before.

Made that one mostly as a joke, since it doesn't have any attack animations. Maybe the other ones do, but I'd rather get back to work on the two huge monsters I have going. Until next time, kids...

Picture this: You're playing through the Tribunal main quest for the first time ever, and you get to the part where you're supposed to head down to Old Mournhold and kill the two goblin trainers and the two goblin chieftains. So you go down into the sewers, look around for where you think the chieftains might be, come to a dimly lit cave, and have a face-to-skull encounter with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmIS_Vftfto&feature=youtu.be.

Obviously it's not finished, but the Bone Juggernaut is already shaping up to be a tough thing for me to top in terms of sheer intimidation and weirdness. But I do have something else that I think is up to the challenge. None will see it coming.
