ConstructionSet.ini

Googled this but as usual nothing relevant. Two questions;

1. For us old geezers squinting through greasy bifocals, does anyone know a way to increase the font size in the construction set?

2. Those annoying "modelloader still has (Xnumber) NIF files" messages on shutting down - while looking over the CS INI file I noticed;

bAllowUnsafeSave=0

What would happen if that was changed to 1? Would it stop the program from having a hissy fit about the modelloader failing to unload NIF files?

For your first question, I would use http://www.theassimilationlab.com/forums/files/file/1056-font-generator/ to create new fonts. Once you have created the new fonts, just edit the font lines in the ini:

[Fonts]sfontfile_1=Data\Fonts\DarN_Kingthings_Exeter_28.fntsfontfile_2=Data\Fonts\DarN_Kingthings_Petrock_14.fntsfontfile_3=Data\Fonts\DarN_Kingthings_Petrock_16.fntsfontfile_4=Data\Fonts\DarN_Oblivion_28.fntSFontFile_5=Data\Fonts\Handwritten.fnt

I can't help you with the second unfortunately. I use FastExit 2 to stop that stuff and crashes on exit. Unfortunately it's an OBSE plugin.

Got that in oblivion.ini, a search for the word "font" in constructionset.ini returns nothing. Downloaded the utility from the link and read the readme, the instructions are rather vague? They also make no mention of constructionset.ini. Default fonts in the CS look like MS san serif or Arial, which is fine, but the typeface is about 8 point.

Oh, sorry, misread your post. I know of no way to increase the font in the CS. The CSE allows you to configure some fonts, but that requires OBSE.

Bummer. Well, I got zipped backups of all that stuff, so I'll take a shot at adding a line to constructionset.ini and see what happens. Something like

sfontfile_1=Data\Fonts\DarN_Kingthings_Petrock_14.fnt

All I really need is to make the font bigger than 8 point so I don't have to squint to read.
Most likely won't do anything, if the fonts in the CS are hard coded it wouldn't have any effect.

One thing you can try if you haven't got it set already is to set the default font size in Windows to be large, which is 120% of the original. I haven't used that setting in a while, but I think it's somewhere in the desktop settings. You might find it under Accessibility if not. I think Accessibility has other options like zoom and magnifier.

Hmmm, thanks. I can use magnifier in CS, but the large fonts has no effect on the font size in the construction set lists.
