Requiem 1.9 mod compatability

Post » Tue Jun 23, 2015 9:39 am

I created a thread last week on which overhaul to use for Skyrim, and I opted for Requiem 1.9 thanks to your suggestions. I only use a small number of mods, so for any experienced modder this should be a relatively easy question. This is my current load order:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/nylvm4f4rkkteyg/Skyrim%20load%20order.PNG?dl=0

I am looking at also getting the following mods:

- iHud

- Even better quest objectives

- Alternate start - live another life

- 3D paper world map

- Apocalypse magic

My question is - are these compatible with Requiem 1.9 and do they require a patch? If yes, is one available?

I have searched for patches myself but I found none for Apocalypse magic, even better quest objectives and alternate start that are compatible with Requiem 1.9.

Furthermore, I don't know if a patch is required for iHud and 3D paper world map, or if I can just install and that's it. Also I assume that these 4 mods should be loaded after Requiem.esp, correct? With any patches loaded afterwards.

Thanks!

The mods you list are all compatible. Only Apocalypse needs a patch and it's in the download section of Apocalypse. (Patches for 1.8.3 are generally fine to use with 1.9)

Alternate start needs to be after Requiem in the load order. Warburgs Map should always be AT THE VERY END of your load order, with or without Requiem.

For iHud and Even Better Quest Objectives it probably doesn't matter. I would put them after Requiem. You can always change the load order and rerun the Reqtificator.

Edit: You use Dragonborn which is way too easy without a patch for Requiem. There are 2-3 around, just search the Nexus for Requiem (patches). I still use Azirok's patch which was made for 1.7. Some people think that's not good but it works for me still under 1.9.

Also there are patches for the Unofficial Patches. It is not game-breaking if you don't use them but some changes of the UP will not work.

The mods you list are all compatible with Requiem. I use all of them. For a requiem Dragonborn patch, I use NRM Dragonborn.

I agree with Eudyptes, with a couple clarifications.

Even Better Quest Objectives also needs a Requiem patch. Its included with the Even Better Quest Objectives download.

Warburgs goes at the end, but Requiem for the Indifferent.esp should come dead last after even Warburgs.

It doesn't matter and it's probably best to put RfdI always last when you don't know your mods well. However, of course you can put Warburgs map last. In fact I have many mods after RfdI and I know why.

There's no reason to put Warburgs after Requiem for the Indifferent. It works fine right before it. Requiem for the Indifferent is a merged patch and should go last with very rare exceptions and Warburgs is not one of them.

There's no reason to put Warburgs before Requiem for the indifferent. It works fine right after it. There are mods that have to go after it like UFO and there are mods where it doesn't matter, like pure texture replacers, e.g.

It works fine right before it too. Ogerboss recommends that order.

Thank you both for the replies.

(1) For Dragonborn I found the NRM Dragonborn patch which states it's for the 1.8.2 version (while I'm using requiem 1.9). I'll be using it though and if there are any major issues I guess I'll remove the patch afterwards. Do you think there might be any problems with using this patch and Requiem 1.9?

(2) As for Apocalypse magic I'm a bit wary of using the 1.8.3 patch since this is a mod which contents I'll be using 80% of my time playing (as a mage for example).

Thanks again!

Both of those patches should work fine with Requiem 1.9. I would not use Apocalypse without a patch. If you do that, all the new spells will be unbalanced. There should not be any issues using the Apocalypse patch that was designed for Requiem 1.8.2 (there is no 1.8.3 version of Requiem). At most, there would be minor issues. Nothing game breaking and nothing as major as using Apocalypse without a patch.

NRM Dragonborn will also be fine with 1.9. It makes a few other changes though, that not everyone likes, including making dragon priest masks clothing and adjusting the archmages robes and the atronach perk.

The Requiem author has stated that none of the changes from 1.8.2 to 1.9 should affect any existing patches.

Sorry meant to write 1.8.2.

Regarding dragon priest masks, there's no way to turn them back to armour instead of clothing?

I had to install the nrm patch as I don't want an unbalanced name!

And on another note, I don't remember Morrowind mods requiring patches and so much stuff!

You could use a different Dragonborn patch. Azirok's patch should still work.

Yeah I've just uninstalled the NRM DB patch and installed Azirok's DB patch + his resources mod. Hopefully they're compatible with Requiem 1.9 as I have no way of knowing if they work together until I'd be far into the game.

Yeah, that's one reason why I went with NRM. Plus, I've never liked the fact that the dragon priest masks were armor, especially not with Requiem's casting penalties for armor, so I actually like that change.

On the other hand, Eurypedes is using Azirok's patch with Requiem 1.9 and it seems to be working for him, so it might be fine. But this thread on the http://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimrequiem/comments/2h6r2o/requiem_18_dragonborn_patch/ seems to say otherwise. There is also a combo patch linked in this thread that might work for you.

Thanks again - I think I'll go back to NRM. You're kind of right that those ceremonial masks aren't really armour. They're just magic infused :)
