Elder Scrolls Remastered

Alright guys, so I know that the Elder Scrolls Online is an awesome addition to the Elder Scrolls series. However, I also know that many of the Elder Scrolls fans have enjoyed playing through Elder Scrolls games without having other players taking part in their quests and stories, preferring to shape the world in the way that they think it should be made. Also, there are some gamers who do not have the proper quality of internet to play Elder Scrolls Online with their friends. That is why I think that what the fans need is a remastering.

I know that I would personally love to be able to play the entire Elder Scrolls series in a digitally and mechanically remastered version on next gen consoles and pc and I think that many other fans would also love this opportunity. I also know that even if Bethesda decided to release an anniversary game for each game in the Elder Scrolls series I would still buy every single one, and I know that many of the other fans of the series would to. I would also love to get the entire remastered series in one giant collection. So, this is why I am pleading with my fellow Elder Scrolls fans, please help me convince Bethesda and the Elder Scrolls team to work on a remastering.

I think all fans of the Elder Scrolls series would love the chance to experience a crisp clean game that they played through before, or to enter into a new adventure that was released before they became a gamer. This is why I would like this dream to become a reality, and I would love the fans, as well as Bethesda, to see my dream and help to make it a reality.

I doubt it, Beth doesn't really do the whole Remake/remaster thing. If we were going to get something similar to that, we probably wouldn't end up with the Anthology Edition.

That said, I wouldn't mind Oblivion and Skyrim redone...so long as they were radically different from what we actually got in those games. If both games sported a better character development system, larger world-space, more cultural representation, different combat, and certain quest-lines being completely overhauled, then I may be in favor for something like that. I don't really see it happening though, so I can't say I'm on-board for a straight remake. Updated graphics is the least of my concern where those games are concerned.

I could imagine a Morrowind remaster at some point in the next few years (though if you're playing on PC I think there are already existing mods that can update the graphics). It's too soon for Oblivion or Skyrim (not that that stops some developers lately) and Arena and Daggerfall are so dated that I think they're probably beyond remastering.

Personally I'd rather see some new titles. The Elder Scrolls universe is massive and there's no shortage of potential story-lines and settings for new games.

True, Bethesda hasn't done a whole lot of remastering, but that being said, they have a smaller selection of old games than most other companies do. While I would love to see some changes within the older games like Morrowind and Oblivion, I still think that they could be rereleased today and they would still be awesome with just some graphical and mechanical updates. The quest and storylines within Oblivion are phenomenal, ten times better than the story lines in Skyrim and yet Skyrim is still an amazing and awesome game that I loved as a fan of the series.

I also agree that it would be really awesome if we got another installment in the Elder Scrolls saga that went to new places that we have never seen before, but with Elder Scrolls Online; Tamriel Unlimited being recently released, I think that it is safe to assume that we will have a long wait before a new installment in the saga, which is why a remake would be awesome and something that makes sense to be released between the new installments in the series.

There are very few games deserving of remasters, frankly... For major milestones of revolutionary titles, sure. Halo, Half Life, even FF7. Morrowind MAY deserve such a thing, but suffers horribly from its dated gameplay, which would practically necessitate a total remake... Other than that... Nothings old enough to matter.

Even then, remasters are something that should he left to supporting studios, not the main one. This worked out fantasticallly with Halo Anniversary, and should stand as an example of how a remaster should be handled.

By and large, this current theme to remaster games that were popular in the last generation (many only 2-5 years old) is nothing but a lazy cash grab, even worse than rapid fire yearly releases like CoD and various sports titles. Remasters should be reserved for the Citizen Kanes of video gaming, not every crapy title that came out over the last few years.

The less Beth pays attention to the remaster fad, the better. Move forward, don't rerelease old problems with a new lick of paint.

no we do not need a remastered Elder Scrolls game.. they are all fine as is, and are still very playable.. can't play them on your PS4/Xbox One? well, go plug in that other console you played them on before, it still plays games you know..

the current "lets remaster it!" mindset of the industry atm is really bothering me.. a game from one console Generation ago do not need to be "remastered" (even though alot of them are)..

I personally think nothing newer than early 6th gen (2001-2003) needs to get a remastering, and even then the only reason i'd support such games getting one is so they would become Available on a digital distribution platform (the day i can see Skies of Arcadia available digitally will be the happiest day of my life)..

instead, they should be focusing on making new games, look to the future rather than the past..
