I've been looking at a couple of systems recently and been thinking about getting one, Both systems pretty much have the same library of games (other then exclusives) and are FINALLY getting some good games in. The XB1 is grabbing my attention cause I've heard they're going to be coming backwards compatible with 360 games (probably not all 360 games but it's a start) and you no longer need the Kinetic to play it. I'm already experienced with the PS4 and so far both units act the same however the XB1 is slightly cheaper then the PS4 and I'm leaning towards getting a XB1.

What to buy...?

All I'll say is if it were me, I'd get the PS4. (Period, or at least first.)

But that's because it's what my friends have so I can just borrow the games they buy.

I guess it's a bit of "punishment" for MS too, having forced the Kinect on everyone when it first came out. (Then the interwebs exploded so they reneged.)
