Another mad scientist experiment - I noticed the speed setting in all weapons, as you would expect a short sword is 1.2, long sword 1.0, claymore 0.8. War axe 1.1, mace 0.9. warhammer 0.7. About what you'd expect, the heavier/longer the weapon the more time it takes to swing and recover for a second swing. Doesn't apply to bows, for some reason they're all set to 1.000. So I made a mod with the rusty iron bow at 0.5, iron bow at 0.75, steel 1.0, fine steel 1.25, silver 1.5, and so on. As expected the faster the speed the faster you can draw and fire, crank it up to 9.0 and you get a medieval machine gun.
The marksman skill is set up so the bow and the arrow do more damage per hit as the skill increases, which is realistic enough because with more skill you'd be more likely to hit critical areas of the target. What's missing is an archer with lots of practice and a higher skill would also be able to load draw aim release faster. Nothing in settings to increase that, the only thing close is the percent chance of knockdown or paralysis which is dependent on expert or master.
What would be nice is if there was a way to make a multiplier for speed of attack dependent on skill with that type weapon, similar to the gradual decrease in required spell points for every increase in that school of magic.
