Should I Get an XBox One or PS4?

Post » Thu Jul 02, 2015 10:53 am

I got a 360 controller for my PC, and it actually does feel better than Sony's.
I'd imagine X1 controllers work on PC just as easily as 360 ones do?

Just remember two things about the X-Box One:

+ You need internet connectivity to set up the console and your X-Box profile.

+ You need internet connectivity to install games you've bought/downloaded.

Other than that, you can turn the console to offline mode via options and network. You will be able to access your profile and play all the games you currently have installed onto the system.

I like to thank everyone's input, after going to Wal-Marts and looking at the games and stuff I'll probably buy a XB1 sometimes in the following months. The PS4 was a nice system but I'm already covered with Sony games with my PS3 and Vita.

Yes, they work very well on the PC. All you need are the proper drivers.

Shuhei Yoshida said that Sony wouldn't be releasing another AAA exclusive on Vita

Sony aren't prepared to spend considerable money developing games for this console because they know it's largely irrelevant, Vita has an extensive library of games but commercially it's dead (bar Japan to some extent).

I have nothing against the Vita, but it's a platform for indie games and lower budget Japanese games, not for anything even tenuously AAA or mainstream of which FF7 is both of.

I just saw your topic title a bit more carefully.

It's XBOX One not X BONE.

It's just abbreviated, I didn't feel like spelling it all out fully :P.

I'm not asking for Microsoft to shell out money for exclusive content. I don't want exclusive content. I want a full game with all of its intended content to be in it. Of course it's not anti-consumer from Sony's perspective, and I understand they're a business, but it's a BS business practice regardless. Quite frankly, it's just a pointless game these two companies play because I'd wager to say most aren't going to buy a whole new console just for DLC, it just detriments the consumers. Even more so those who don't even play on a console.

Even the PS4 controller works great on the PC. (with ScpServer) but with that said, I think the 360 controller has a great feel, save for that mushy dpad. Damn Nintendo and their patents.

Well I came VERY close in putting an XB1 in layaway at Toy"R"Us----sadly all they had where the $499.00 with the Kinetic and that was to much to put in Layaway. Oh well there's always October when Wally World opens it's layaway.

While the PS4 may be more powerful the difference between the two graphically is barely notable.

I personally think Xbox One has a better exclusive library, I haven't cared about a single PS4 exclusive so far, while I've played and enjoyed almost every Xbox One exclusive. I also think that Xbox One has a better user interface and better controller. Of course your opinion may be different.

Microsoft also undoubtedly treats their consumers miles better than Sony and have added a lot features the community has asked for.

I may come across as a bit of an Xbox really devoted fan, but I was 100% in favour of the PS3 last gen. :)

I love the Kinext. "Xbox On", turns my TV, Satellite and Xbox on. Same thing, "Xbox Turn OFF" Shuts them all off as well. Really needed? No. Nice gimmick and I love it. Also when I can't find my remote, "Xbox Volume Up or Down" comes in handy as well. Same for "Pause, Stop etc" when watching PVR or Blu Rays or what not.

Also don't know if other games do this or even if PS4 does this but when I play my Witcher 3, and don't turn the game off, but the Xbox off (basically in stand by mode) and the next day I turn the Xbox on, my Witcher 3 is already on, just where I left it. I still save it just in case if it ever does shut off when I don't realize what I am doing.

Kinect is so much better than PS Eye toy or what ever it's called now. Thing is if you don't care for the features I said, then it's a moot point, but the Kinect is just not for games. It's your cam for Skype and I also like how it recognizes me and logs me in when I enter the room. Again another gimmick, but I love this gimmick.

If going for hard drive space, Xbox is coming with a 1 Terebyte hide drive. Not sure if the PS4 is doing it.

I say it comes down to the controller. What are you most comfortable with? Since you will be using that most, choose that.

PS4 has the terabyte upgrade coming as well. Pretty sure they announced it first as well.

The graphics aren't what really change with the PS4. If the dev bothers to optimize it, and many do, it shortens load times and reduces frame rate drop. By minimal but noticeable amounts.

PS4 exclusives take full advantage of the added power as well. This doesn't only show in the graphics department.

As for controllers? I loved the 360 controller and I don't miss it at all with the PS4 controller. They did quite a lot of improvements to the PS4 controller in comparison to the PS4 one.

What Xbox One exclusives are good enough to be worth getting? I honestly cannot think of a single one that stands out. I even just went through Wikipedia and saw nothing that looked good other than maybe Halo and Forza if you like those series. Honest question. What exclusives are good on the Xbox One?
