This is mainly for school and browsing. Looking for mainly suggestions about what a good choice would be, thanks! Not getting an apple product either

Well, you don't have that many options, really. It's probably going to have an Intel Celeron, 4GB of RAM at max, and only a few laptops (most from Acer) are going to have a screen that's 15 inches. Of course, that's all brand-new. If you look for refurbished stuff, you may be able to snag an Intel i3.

If all you are doing is school and browsing, I'd look at outside issues like typing ability, unless you are just going to connect an external keyboard, you will want to find a laptop that has a good typing experience.
