Xbox One Backwards Compatibility

Hey Bethesda, since skyrim has a huge chance to become in the backwards compatibility(if you guys say yes), why not make a new dlc for the online mode? 30 dollars or euros, people love skyrim and i'm pretty sure most of us would pay 30 extra dollars/euros for a online dlc. Please consider doing this. Your Elder Scrolls Online didn't do so well.

A: Skyrim has had all support for it stopped sometime shortly after the last DLC they made for it. They announced Fallout 4 last month. gamesas has long since moved on.

B: Any kind of online mode requires a LOT more than can be done by simply adding a $30 DLC. For instance, just about every gamesas title seems to have had a group of modders try to make it mulitplayer or online. The only one that actually got to a workable state kicked you off of multiplayer when you tried to access your inventory. A game basically needs to be designed from the ground-up to support any form of multiplayer.

I hope you're not actually entertaining the thought of this happening, because it won't.

- Skyrim and main entry TES games are singleplayer. That's how it always was, and that's how it's always going to be.

- Even if this weren't the case, they wouldn't spend the manpower and financial resources to tack on a multiplayer feature for a 4 1/2 year old game, that probably has half the active players it had at release.

- The Elder Scrolls: Online exists. Just because it didn't crush sales doesn't mean it's a bad game. (Well, I like it at least. I know.) It also didn't do BAD, it just didn't do fantastic. The games performance in the market is not even close to being in the zone where Bethesda/ZOS would consider dropping support.

Also, welcome to the forums! Let's get you a fishy stick.

Yeah, this won't happen for the reasons described.

Multiplayer support has to be coded in during the games development. EARLY development. You can't just tack it on after the games release.

It isn't a case of them opening up the game in their version of the Creation Kit and ticking the box that says 'Allow Multiplayer' though I think people think thats the case with the amount of 'Multiplayer via DLC' threads we get.

I still don't get it why people think a multipayer can be simply added via DLC or a patch. Even if you know less than zero about game development, it should be very obvious that it has to be done early in development, as stated above. Main series TES-games (as well Fallouts) have zero lines of code for any kind of multiplayer support. The game content aren't designed to handle more than one player.

Yes, there's an online mod in development for PC. It changes absolutely nothing. It still has a mountain of issues to solve before it could be called pre-pre-pre-pre-pre-......-pre-alpha version. I seriously doubt it will ever be fully functional.
