Hunter Build Question

Post » Fri Jul 17, 2015 11:50 am

Gonna do a Hunter RP in the southern holds of Skyrim and I only have one detail I've yet worked out before I start...

Are there any safe places I could set up occupancy in the Rift or Falkreath, other than Anise's Cabin or Honeyside or Lakeview?

Darklight Tower or Mistwatch. I know Mistwatch has a couple of unowned bedrolls and a single bed in one of the towers. I'm pretty sure storage is safe there. In fact, I'm positive. I think you'll be given a key to the place.

Unless, of course, living in a fort doesn't fit. Then try Darklight. Clear out the witches, get the cable turned on and you're good to go.

Alchemist Shack. Bed is usable and end table is safe storage.

Cool, thanks for the input! I didn't realize Darklight doesn't respawn!

Really? I'm pretty sure it has a respawn time...

It also has an alchemy lab and enchanting table.

Everything else in the alchemy shack respawns but the end table is safe.

Another option I highly recommend is to get the Hunterborn mod here: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/33201/?

this mod makes the hunting experience much more realistic and enjoyable. It also allows you to create Hunter's caches where you can store your items anywhere you want, beneath rocks that act as non-respawning chests where you drop them. It increases the variety of goods you get from animals and from foraging.

If you combine this mod with Frostfall or with the Campfire mod, you can have a very realistic survivalist experience, setting up camps wherever you like. find a happy spot, and make it your home. Frostfall will give you cold-weather survival elements. Campfire will give you camping without risk of hypothermia. both give you the ability to create clothes and tents and such. Campfire also allows you to create enchanting circles, and somewhere in there you can get a mortar and pestle to make potions wherever and whenever you need them. So the whole world is open to you.

Here is the Campfire mod link: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/64798/?

and a mod that combines patches campfire and Hunterborn to work together seamlessly is here: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/64934/?

I have found this combination to really make the game much more open, free, and fun, for any RP build, but especially for the Hunter build.

Cool! I'll shove something in on my main char to test it anyway. Better safe than sorry. :)

360 player. :( If I had the PC version, I'd be happy just with a mod for Drelas' cottage, lol.

I've been using the Alchemist Shack for ages, with several different characters. The end table is safe.

Generally speaking, end tables, wardrobes, and dressers are non-respawning containers, meaning they are safe for storage. I've even stored things in such containers in respawning bandit lairs, without a problem. Apparently the bandits never change their clothes, because they never look in their wardrobes.

Excellent! The Alchemist Shack fits my hunter MO better. Live in the woods, and make the trek to Riften or Falkreath to trade furs.
