Just as the title suggests really, will the Steam versions of these games ever get an update?

It'd be nice to buy a game and not have to immediately replace the engine with a community made one to enjoy it properly. The Steam forums for both these titles (and their expansions) are full of posts about problems and the solutions pretty much all amount to:

"The version of this game you just bought is broken, here's a link to an engine someone actually maintains and they don't even charge for it"
