Helpful Skyrim Tip #86: Did you know that if you quickly sprint into an NPC, it interrupts their dialogue?

What most people hear in their game:

What I hear in my game:

Because shoving rude people out of your face is nicer than killing them.

Good way to shut annoying NPCs up (especially ones like Braith) without attacking them, because if I do that in Whiterun, the Companions join in on my behalf and half of Whiterun ends up slaughtered. How do I know this, you might ask... well... :whistling:

This is the kind of advice that needs to be shared. Thank you.

"Mama took me to the market. There were lots of pies and cakes there. She said she'd show me how to bake one!"

Every. Single. Time. I. Come. Home.

Mama did not take you to the market! Mama never leaves the house, ever!

Just about the only thing that saves my sanity at times.

Might be nicer than killing them, but if they annoy me enough, I save, kill them, reload, and then run over them. :D

Believe me, the whole reason I figured out that sprinting into certain NPCs shuts them up, is I got tired of exiting the game and reloading after the umpteenth Whiterun killing spree... :swear:

Also, I don't have a killable children mod in my game, and I had to do something about Braith and that kid in Dragonsreach. I also have noticed that using Destruction magic on them doesn't seem to get the guards after you either... maybe because kids are immune to magic by default?

I guess non-killable kids is a bit immersion breaking, but I never really saw the need for it in my game... now if someone made a slappable kids mod, they would deserve a medal in my book! :trophy:

yah, I only killed Nazeem a couple times because it was too much hassle to do all the time. Still, it was satisfying at the time, lol. It's annoying too though, to have to run into people to shut them up, so I mostly just have to deal with it. *sigh* Like we all do.

A mod that allowed slapping anyone would be...useful. LOL

I have an animation mod that I usually use for my PC... sit, lie down, whatever, but... I can select an animation for NPCs and I occasionally have them crawl around for a while, or run endlessly, unable to stop, or just drop to their knees and start praying. I presume they are praying that I don't kill them, eh?

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/746/?

Has 3 versions, per the mod page:

"No NPC Greetings.esp" completely eliminates NPC greetings.
"Reduced Distance NPC Greetings.esp" reduces the distance required so that you'll need to nearly bump into them
"Slightly Reduced Distance NPC Greetings.esp" reduces the distance required, but not so much as "Reduced Distance NPC Greetings.esp"

I use "Reduced Distance NPC Greetings myself, so that I pretty much have to bump into someone for them to do their dialogue. Helps keep my sanity when wandering around Whiterun etc.
